Cratter
11 hours ago, AJS said: I've never paid attention to where teams have been ranked with their first round matchups. Do they attempt at all to match teams up based on the teams actual rankings? I know they try to go regional, but let's say UND and SDSU are ranked 9th and 11th. Would they still match them up first round, even though it would make no sense to do so based on their rankings? They would match up a 9 and 11 no problem. The way FCS playoffs work seems to be pretty small ball. From my little knowledge, seems like no matter what the records are if a playoff team can play a regional nonconference team they will. So as long as SDSU (or USD) and NDSU are available either first or second round, UND football will be playing them....and from the polls this year even winning out UND won't be a top 8 seed. Ridiculous. Is there a giant uproar every year, or are people so tired of complaining they've given up? I know last year w/ MVC all being on the same side there was a lot of push back. You'd think that nobody would be ok with this. What a joke. Regardless, just keep winning and see what happens. I know there's a lot of time left in the season and a lot of things will change, but is the general consensus that we'd like to see South Dakota State win out and get a seed? siouxfan512
Athlon Sports pegs UND at #14 NDSU remains #1. Yes, they have a loss, but their #1 ranking is understandable and still pretty justified. We'll see how they respond this week at Western Illinois. Being the Bison, I could see them winning out, but at the same time, they still have to play Western Illinois, Youngstown, @ UNI (Yeah, they're having a down year, but could still win a big game), @ USD (Also a team capable of winning big games). It It'll be interesting to see what happens with NDSU the rest of the way.

USD is way more deserving of the ranking at this point. I get that UNI has had a tough tough schedule, but if you don't win any games, your strength of schedule doesn't, or shouldn't, do you many favors.
AJS
UNI still being ranked is a complete joke, but it'll work itself out. They're getting in at 6-5, but sitting currently at 2-4, they'll have to finish 4-1 to get to that record. They still play NDSU, SDSU and Western Illinois. They do have a brutal schedule. UND is #21 in the Sagarin rankings. http://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm
UNDColorado
UNi is being judged based on the past and this is garbage. The only team that remotely deserves that right is NDSU...5 strait Nattys will do that. UNi plays Missery State this week, they will win and I am sure they will rocket up the polls. Pathetic.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they lose to Missouri State. This UNI team is even worse than their record. If they win more than 1-2 games the rest of the way it's actually a testament to how weak the MVFC really is as they are incapable of playing anything resembling football on offense right now.
