I think I saw that they could potentially have 5 first round draft picks in their incoming class? That's insane. I would guess that a couple could leave after their freshman years and that very few, if any, make it to their junior year. Regardless, that's an insane recruiting class. Props to their coaches on lining that up! Quote

For that reason, and his age, he's got a shot at eventually being the best NHLer of the group. Which is not to say he was the best defenseman on the team last year, but people develop at different rates. Thanks for bringing home the title, and good luck! I agree with this. Also, I haven't seen anyone mention that he's a lot younger than the other junior defenders; heck he's younger than all the regular D except Shaw. Point being, Keaton has very large future upside. On a team where some guys played at a much higher fraction of their potential, I think we have yet to see the best of his play. Here's hoping he makes it to The Show. Thanks for three excellent seasons at UND. All the best. 5 Quote

I don't think I'd call Keaton a stay-at-home defenseman, however. Quote

Veering off topic here, you've hit on one of the keys to the effectiveness of this outstanding defensive corps: their age. Give me a well-seasoned Ladue or Poolman over a green Thompson, Forbort, Lee or Chorney any day. Those guys eventually developed into fine players (some are works in progress), but they were not as ready to play college hockey at an elite level. And I mean that more mentally than physically. 1 Quote

Popular Post Oxbow6 Posted April 22, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 22, 2016 Having Ladue back would be a big bonus but getting Schmaltz back IMO is what would make next year's team an instant contender. Getting both back......back to back Nattys. 6 Quote

You are naturally going to create more animosity for teams you play regularly. Someone needs to convince these boys on the fence that if they come back they can be apart of something very special. No UND team has ever won back to back National Championships. Also, one more title and we are tied for the most Championships in NCAA history. Both can be accomplished next year!! 5 Quote

Pretty decent source but still mentioned he wasn't 100% sure. He's getting heavy pressure but loves GF. Im not saying he will, just what i was told. Haha I tried to delete that. Funny stuff. Either way sounds close to 50/50. I heard he's obviously getting heavy pressure but really likes playing for UND. Sometimes when I hear someone constantly bringing up the positives of one particular choice it leads me to believe that is what they want to do. However making that choice does not always happen. We'll see. Quote
