Sioux94
So does Wanzek have any type of realistic shot at the NFL? He has made tons of great highlight catches at UND and will be a WR we will all remember. Does he have the speed to make it at the next level? We complained about our WR's not being able to get separation, wouldn't he be covered like a wet blanket in the NFL? Perfect route running and help offset lack of top end speed, but is it realistic for him? Would love it if he did especially since he is a ND native. He struggled to separate in college so he’ll have to be more of a Mike Evans type where he uses his size and jumping ability to separate at the point of attack. geaux_sioux
Pretty good numbers from Noah. To make a combine comparison the rule of thumb is to add about .2 to hand timed 40s. So he likely would have run around a slow 4.7 maybe a 4.8 at the NFL combine. Some taller wr comps: Kenny G ran a 4.50, Michael Thomas ran a 4.57, Theilen ran a 4.45, and Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.63. They do not use lazer start times. Noah did participate in NSC Combine with Beyond Sports in Indianapolis back in February. It was for players not invited to the NFL combine. He ran an all lazer (no hand )time of 4.7. His positives are his agility numbers and broad jump (10’3”)with Sanford Power and his vertical jump of 38” at the NSC combine. He ran a 6.82 in the L drill and a 4.13 in the pro agility or 20ss drill which would have placed him in the top 3 for wr at NFL combine for both events. These agility times are more reflective of football ability IMO. Everybody knows Noah isn’t an elite speed football player. His speed is adequate. It’s all the other tangible and intangible qualities he brings to the table. His hands, his body control, his leaping ability, his catch radius, his route running etc. Intangibles are his work ethic, his character, his toughness, his desire, his competitiveness, his intelligence (he scored a 36 on wonderlic test), his ability to process things fast helping him play faster. These are reasons why he can succeed at next level. It will be a long shot, but like his whole life he has always proven himself when given an opportunity. He just needs to get lucky and have someone give him that opportunity. He has an agent and has been in contact with some teams. They’ve expressed interest. Wish him good luck! 3

I’m very aware of how the NFL times events at their combine. If Noahs 40s were laser timed why does it say “*manual”? That would put him at a huge disadvantage for perception. northernraider
CFL just officially canceled the 2020 season. Disappointed to not see if Brady can rebound from his injury and Mason Bennett's debut. First time since 1919, there will be no Grey Cup

The CFL convinced the Canadian Government to extend the border closure so they didn’t have to face embarrassment when the Bison roll the entire league..... same thing happens with Oregon, they knew they would lose
