GreenWing Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The bottom feathers look WAY too much like the headdress feathers on a Sioux war bonnet. No way this passes muster.Of course they do. The fact is that feathers must be grown on a bird before they are put on a headdress. They are not different feathers! 4 Quote
GreenWing Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I disagree with this 1000%. I disagree with the article as well. If good ideas come locally, use the professionals to come up with the entire brand package while incorporating the local ideas. That's where a logo companie's value will be. I would proudly wear this logo not only because how great it looks but also because it was designed by one of us, who is passionate about the university, its players and fans. I would love to see it materialize. 3 Quote

fargosioux Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Here is a smaller version. This is smaller than it would be on a hat by about 2X.The eye gets lost a bit when the image size is reduced.I agree with the previous post, until I see something better, this would be my choice. Quote

siouxfan512 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Is this better?I hope you are sending this to whomever you can to get some traction going, because I'd bet decent money that this is way better than whatever some committee will come up with. Really like it, nice work. Quote

Fetch Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I really like it just curious what if the black was white & white black Quote
Shawn-O Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I really like it just curious what if the black was white & white black You'd have a dove? Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 You'd have a dove? Make the eye all red and we're the albino Hawks. #Unique 1 Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) Is this better?I like this logo. However, I think it is too black. Needs more color. I know we aren't the Green Hawks (thank God) but I think it needs to use our school colors more. I would like to see this with maybe the green and the black reversed., at least on the head. The black on the beak can stay. Just my thoughts. Edited December 1, 2015 by Siouxperfan7 Quote
Shawn-O Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Google White Hawk in imagesPretty cool looking actually. Quote
Shawn-O Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I like Geaux_Sioux's work. It'll probably end up being something along these lines: Quote
4evrSIOUX Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Is this better?I really like this, but I think it would stand out more if there were less black? Just a thought. Awesome job! Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) GS - can you somehow incorporate the word "Hawks" within the white and green highlights in the beek head eyes and feathers? The eye looks like an "A" now. Edited December 1, 2015 by SiouxFan100 Quote
TBR Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I read Jenny's letter as "I know more than you. And the general public doesn't know what a good logo looks like. Only the experts. Pay me."Yep. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I too would be interested in seeing different variations of color usage in that logo. Love it either way just curious. Quote
Fetch Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The only feedback I got from sharing it was something about looks like the Hawk had a bad hair day & are those dreadlocks Quote
Hayduke Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The only feedback I got from sharing it was something about looks like the Hawk had a bad hair day & are those dreadlocks Yes and yes. Now, don't mess with I, I and I. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 I've tried all sorts of colors and combos and a black base looks best. Remember, the Sioux logo didn't have all that much green on it. Quote

Hawkster Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Of course they do. The fact is that feathers must be grown on a bird before they are put on a headdress. They are not different feathers! You can pretend all you want that this doesn't imitate native head dress, but we all know those feathers are arranged that way for a reason. The NCAA is going to take a very close look at whatever we adopt and if we keep pulling stunts like this we not make the playoffs with an 11-0 record. This is the main reason Kelley is having a hired firm do the drawing and then we can finally move on. Quote
