Kenedy’s fault

There are few things I agree with what he did/has done as our president, and this is one of them. As a grad from the last handful of years, it became clear that the university needed a ridiculous amount of modernizing and I'm glad he was aware enough to allocate spend for all of these projects, given consideration to attendance/student body numbers being in limbo over the last decade. Really looking forward to all of the face-lifts coming in the next few years, especially to the CFL, Union and Gamble.

That IDGAF factor that he has which offends people allows him to get a ton of !@#$ done because he doesn’t waste a lot of time asking and getting approval. It’s boom and bust. An asshole no doubt but we will reap the rewards.

To summarize: the city would like UND to rent space from them in their fancy new building that they bought from ForumComm..........

Which would be great for UND and the city.

"The study recommends the University rent space in the "Herald Building" and the city to add more direct bus routes from downtown to UND."

...."oh yeah and some bumpouts and new trees too. Have to increase that "walkability score."

How would that be great for UND? It's nowhere near campus and people living in the dorms without cars certainly don't want to take the bus downtown. I see zero benefits for UND

Why not? Straight shot to Joe Blacks.

A better/livelier downtown as a result of more young people living downtown makes Grand Forks a more attractive place for young professionals. This is a positive for UND as it helps attract more high caliber students and professors and it’s a positive for Grand Forks because a downtown full of young professionals is very lucrative brings in more developers and helps retain young talent.

NDSU has a couple of buildings downtown and it certainly helped that area before all the construction projects started to take off.

It was the main catalyst of the downtown renaissance in Fargo

wouldn't the renaissance zones be the reason for the downtown renaissance?

Partially. But without Barry and Renaissance halls being downtown it wouldn’t be what it has become at all.

will ray richards need a full time "golf pro"? if so how much does that pay and is that person a und employee...for comparison's how much does dan tannahill make at kings walk (should be public info)...how about doug iverson at the country club?

Any reason the UND golf coaches couldn’t be the golf pros? Great way to supplement income. Do they still have the driving range?  Does the pro shop have golf gear? A great place to sell UND gear and golf accessories. Coordinate with bookstore/Scheels/REA to supply.  UND will need to aggressively market the venue and if necessary remodeling/repurposing to be used as a venue for events. Should be able to provide catering/restaurant services through UND food service. Do some weekend golf outings in fall with UND athletics and UND alumni assn. Opportunities to provide a venue for GF Park Board to use for part of youth golf program?  Whomever is heading this up will need to be hustling year round and think outside the box to make this a special fun venue.
