Miller was signed by the Bruins on November 4 2022, then his contract was terminated on November 6 2022 after fan pressure and pressure from the Bruins players on management.

Miller played 2021-22 with the Tri City Storm of the USHL

Did Brianna Berry sue UND to enforce any trademark ownership?  Did she license the NODAK name to UND for an unfair deal, or any deal?  Wondering how much the Berrys’ made, if any, off the trademark?  I know the optics aren’t good, but I am genuinely curious.

You missed the better point...$2 for 6 Months Subscription?   I'd rather get my opinion pieces from the local Shopper at Hugo's - more credibility!

Berry screwed up on the whole NODAK logo issue.  Nobody knows for sure exactly what his involvement was but admittedly the optics are not great.  He needed to be better handling this.  As far as the Mitch Miller thing, UND knew his past and I think Berry thought he could bring him in and make him a part of the Sioux family and mature the kid.  Again, optics not great but UND ultimately cut Miller loose.

Berry is no longer head coach due to issues on and off the ice; we should be willing to leave it at that.

The Miller fiasco was in 2020 and the jersey fiasco was 2022. I don't think either had a lot to do in Berry's firing. IMO, the major factors were winning one tournament game in nine years and some really poor roster management this past season, as well as not making the tournament.

Wondered what happened to him?  Real POS and hated UND was willing to give him a 2nd "chance".   I can only hope the KHL said...

"YES YES Comrade we will give you marginal pro contract!  just lick this tootsie pop we pissed on and you will have REAL pro hockey career guaranteed!" HAHA!  Karma is a bitch but not a bad thing in this case

I like Dane and hope he succeeds.  It wouldn't have been my first choice to take over the program, but I think he aligns with Hak heavily and not so much Brad...which is a good thing and why he subtly back-handed Brad throughout the presser.  That doesn't mean he will accomplish what either have, so he has his work cut out for him.

The thing I don't like is, I'm struggling to find a fitting meme to post after his first loss in the Fire Dane thread.

Thank you. That’s what I thought. Brianna Berry acknowledged UND owned the trademark before she did, transferred it to UND free of charge, and UND never paid anything to the Berrys. Outside of poor optics, the NODAK controversy was really a nothing burger.

Berry was simply fired for his teams’ on ice performance (or lack thereof).

Is there any chance that it isnt Chyzyk for GM? If Hak doesn't get an NHL job this spring does he work as a "volunteer assistant".

I doubt Hak will get another chance.  Been let go twice.  How many times has a coach had three chances as an NHL coach.  We shall see.

Do you even watch pro hockey?   The same coaches just keep getting recycled.  How many has Montgomery been through already?

And how has Seattle done since they fired Hakstol?

No chance he's done in the NHL (in whatever capacity).

That's why he declined the UND job.

Anyone read the Chaves article that schlossman fid

interesting comments

The interesting part to me was Chaves said his meeting with Berry was SOP for end of year. By end of meeting he decided to make a change. Berry wouldn’t be the first person to get feedback from boss and then talk himself out of a job.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not.

32 of the top 40 NHL coaches in wins have coached between 3 and 8 teams in their careers.

That was surprising to me as well.  What was Chaves looking for in that meeting or what did Berry say that made Chaves decide to fire Berry?  At the same time he said he doesn't make decisions in a vacuum so that tells me he spoke about the possibility with Armacost before the meeting.  I'm not totally buying everything being sold.

Should tell you how stubborn Berry must be. He couldn't adapt in the meeting all while Rome was burning
