I didn’t get to watch the game so I’d like some objective rundown from anyone willing to provide.

Did we deserve to win this game?

Were we good at limiting second opportunities and allowing TJ to see pucks?

Did we generate enough scoring chances that just didn’t land?

Did we go long stretches without a decent SOG?

We can sit here and biatch all we want about this team, its coaches and its players, but they are playing their best hockey of the season now, when you want them to be. If Boisvert comes back, he’s a Hobey finalist, and Dylan James has become one of my favorite UND players of all time. A motor that doesn’t stop.

A successful season for UND would have been playing consistently well from October through April. While other teams who were finding their groove last November, it took this team until February before things started really clicking for them; losing & tying along the way to glorified D3 teams that tanked their PWR. Too little, too late & a regression from last season. And any coach starting Montgomery over Littler is demonstrating loud & clear that he is being negligent in his duties to put the most talented players he has on the ice.

Better that mistake happened in a game they won vs. similar blind pass the Rogers kid made against Edina in OT that ended their season.

I looked for Strathman after the play, and I didn't see him, doesn't mean he wasn't out there as I was just a TV guy last night.  Looked like they moved Jubenville up with 13 for the last 8 minutes, but again TV so you aren't always seeing the back end guys.  They pretty much just rolled 5 dmen after Schmaltz got hurt.

I missed it? What happened? Video?

He went after anybody after the whistle during the game. After the horn blew at the end he crosschecked Berg in the lower back. The linesman had to bear hug him and skated him to the away team locker room gate. I was hoping that Kunz could squish him into the boards to, you know, knock the wind right out of that little worm.

Our guys are going to have to suck it up and skate away from that crap the rest of the season. We can’t afford unnecessary penalties or game misconducts when we have so many guys hurt. Way too often it’s the retaliation that is also penalized and sometimes the only guy penalized.  “You can’t make plays from the penalty box”.

Yes to every question, but I defer to our experts.

Yes.  If we buried a couple of early chances in the third we could have stretched it to an easy win. But we didn’t capitalize on those and a bad turnover later and it was a one shot game.  Closely played game throughout.

Generally yes.  Did a pretty good job picking up the guy in front and blocked a few shots at critical moments.

First was brutal for both teams to find flow.  Better chances in the second and early third.

Did we go long stretches without a decent SOG?  Most of the first then the bulk of the third.  It was an on-brand outing for this team.

We were in complete control of the third until the pond hockey play happened. Momentum shifted quickly. Got the win!

We were in control and could have had four or five goals if we bear down and finish chances.  Instead we have a bad turnover and spend the last eight minutes defending in prevent mode.

TJ was really good again.  He has to be with how limited the scoring is.

I see a path to 16 and the potential last at large bid...it requires us to play and defeat ASU in the playoffs, and requires Lowell to lose enough and us win enough to flip that RPI (possible)

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Effin Christmas

Lots of good performances last night—TJ, Sacha, James, Livanavage, Strinden, Wilkie(!)—but the guy who stood out the most was Croal. He’s first in on the forecheck. He’s always moving with a purpose. He finishes his checks. Seems like a pest to the opposition. Kind of a throwback.

Hopefully lesson learned, especially when you just had to put it off the boards and out.  The bigger issue for me, is after that, they went into a shell and Omaha had all the offensive zone time.  This happens time and again, and if the coaches can’t get their players to stop reverting to that every time when the game gets close, they need to be held just as accountable for losses in those circumstances as those that make ill-advised plays.

With how much hockey these guys (even the freshmen who are by now really sophomores by this point in the season) have played so in their lifetime, if the lesson had not already been learned yet it never will be. Think about that, a backward blind pass into your own slot.

We don't have any so need to win tonight.

If the game goes to OT tonight, don't we own the tie breaker vs. Omaha? We would have gotten 4 of 6 pts against them.  But win and it doesn't matter.

Penalty called on him?

If you don't play a team four times in a season, head to head isn't the first tiebreaker. Conference wins is

Especially the way we have killed penalties.

Getting to 16 won't do it. Have to be 13 or higher to be safe.

I am not sure UND would get that high even winning the Frozen Faceoff.   They are in RPI hell and chances they lose one in the next two weeks are pretty good to bury them even more.
