  1. From Schloss’ article today; According to multiple sources, center David Klee, winger Dalton Andrew, defenseman Andrew Strathmann, defenseman Jayden Jubenvill, defenseman Ian Engel and goaltender Gibson Homer are planning to enter the transfer portal. I’m a little surprised by Klee and Strathmann. All the more reason to believe Chyz has multiple big things cooking. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-hockey-players-expected-to-enter-the-transfer-portal
  2. First off, if you don’t subscribe to the GF Herald, you should for this month. Schloss is cranking out great articles and doing his best to promote the culture, coaching staff, locker room dynamics, etc that will pay dividends with many eyes watching the program this week. To me, this quote highlights one the biggest difference from last year…playing the young talent throughout the year and letting them grow from their experiences (in the article today about Zeller’s history in Vegas); "They know I'm going to make mistakes out there, but they let me come back to the bench, let me know in a timely manner that I made a mistake there, but they also trust me to get back out there. They're not putting me down for mistakes, but they're coaching me. They've been unbelievable and have helped my game so much." 3. He acted like they got jobbed out of the 2016 national championship as well. They were outmatched from the start, had no chance against the CBS line, and lost 5-1. Tip your cap and move on without taking shots at the other team or the officials. I get it in a one goal game but take the high road when you were outmatched.
  4. Who wants to own saying Croal should sit after the UMD loss? There were several on that bandwagon.
  5. When was our first game in SD?
  6. Also think you might get a few more fans in the building if you let people leave between games. Some will show up to watch the third but many will decide to skip to eat/drink at non-concession prices.
  7. who in the arena and wants to clean the dark spot (center-right/lower) off of the main elevated center ice camera? Not sure how production can miss it.
  8. Let’s stick to Schloss’ reverse jinx theme and keep highlighting how unbeatable Latkoczy will be in the playoffs. I don’t see him letting in a single goal all weekend. 😏
  9. 7:07/6:07/6:07 (if necessary)
  10. And more importantly, a 99% chance of a 1 seed (Top 4).
  11. OSU/MSU starting the 13th round of the shootout.
  12. And while a highly physical series with Miami is fun (and we can certainly play that style); I’d prefer to avoid the heightened injury risk that comes with it.
  13. I got the sense in interviews with Homer this week that a start back home seemed like a possibility in his mind. I’m sure the first step was clinching tonight but who knows all the factors in play.
  14. UND has yet to be held without a point in a series this year as well.
  15. Erik Fabian
  16. With how this team plays desperate, I’m not too concerned about entering the NCAA tournament as a slightly wounded animal. The issue, there is a fine line between slightly and mortally wounded. We’ve seen some of the recent Denver teams lay an egg in the NCHC tourney and then dominate the rest of the way. Feels like that could be in this team’s future. It would be nice to still do it as a 1 seed in Sioux Falls however.
  17. Do we pull the goalie for the first three minutes tomorrow night so we can start with the lead?
  18. Makes sense for the regular season, especially in the NHL with so many games in a year. The only other counter proposal I’ve liked is a 10 min sudden death 5x5. In the context of NCHC play, no points simply for making it to overtime, all 3 pts to the winner if scored in the first 5 min, 2 pts to the winner (1 pt to loser) if scored between 5-10 min, if no winner after 10 min then each team gets 1 pt and the remaining 1 pt is sacrificed to the hockey gods. The premise being incentivizing teams for taking chances and scoring early in the overtime. Not perfect but better than a skills competition. I see scenarios where teams are on the bubble for home ice or the Penrose and taking huge risks early in OT if they need the full 3 points. Playoffs should always be 5x5.
  19. Goalie is a little blurry. Next time they should send @Goon

    NCAA seeding

And in most scenarios heading to Sioux Falls for attendance reasons any way with Mich/Mich St going east/northeast. The only issue might be seeding wise if we should land with Denver and they have to be placed in Loveland. But even then the committee most likely would swap citing attendance.
  21. So this is “new intel” on one of the previously discussed high-end Dmen?

    Miami @ UND

The best example to me to Croal. He easily could have been a physical presence last year but between the scheme, and the fact he was randomly an unexplainable healthy scratch, it never happened. Clearly not the players fault.

    Miami @ UND

Tell tale sign is if they spent the first two and half periods trying to figure out how to gain the offensive zone and maintain possession of the puck. This year’s team did it about eight different ways in the first period alone yesterday. Another area that is night and day.

The auction is live here and you can see all of the nicknames. https://my.onecause.com/event/organizations/77c1bd60-1557-4b05-b438-fe662ca5eeb1/events/vevt:b08a1345-5dbf-44b9-aa57-8cabf010942e/auctions/silent-auction

    Miami @ UND

They wore special warmup jerseys that had their childhood nicknames on the back for “kids takeover night”. They will be auctioned off. Most were like this and very straightforward. Kernan’s was my favorite. First big hit of the night…#15 “Boom Boom”’. 🤣
