+10 Fully agree on Chyzyk making it less likely that we end up with guys that don't pan out. I'm guessing that even though Davis doesn't have the high-end hype and might not be a huge producer right away, the staff is looking at the future and how he will likely be an absolute force as a Junior and Senior. This might be the highest "floor" this team has ever had. No disrespect to Dalton Andrew but you knew 100% of the time he was the lowest on the totem pole but now it's going to be a weekly REA battle to see who gets to play.

The way this staff coaches is nothing like Berry's style. Jax puts guys in the lineup based on merit, not based on just their seniority and the fact they are a glue guy. Never in a million years would Jax have given Albrecht or Hain a 5th year. Even Senden would have been iffy but we had missed opportunities where older players with bottom 6 talent were playing in top 6 roles. Sure some of the forward additions so far have been good but not flashy but we will have 6 guys that had 10 or more goals last year which makes me feel like our lower lines will beat other teams up again. We will have an obvious top line with Reschny (who will make a big sophomore jump) and Zellers. If we are getting a few high end recruits at F and D combined with a bunch of guys that are good and play a 200-foot game, then we have just described how Denver has won some of their championships. Although replicating video game goaltending like DU can do at the right time is hard no matter what

I've actually been trying to remind myself how little we actually lost this year. As painful as the Frozen 4 loss was along with the Duluth game a few weeks prior, it was crazy how well this team played. There were some games where we were discombobulated and played dumb, but they never played lazy or apathetic. Only 7 regulation losses and at least 3 of the games we lost we were still the better team.

I’m a UND fan above all else and other fandom is minuscule in comparison. That being said, I live in MN and am definitely a wild fan. It’s weird to suggest you can’t like the wild and dislike the gophers at the same time. Once the Wild are out, I’m pulling for any team with UND guys no matter what. Heck I grew up hating the Avalanche but if the Wild are done, I’m all in for Hak and Nelson. PS me and my kids will never be buying Faber gear as a rule d/t the gopher connection but we will cheer him on if it means the Wild are winning.

Hearing we don’t have a silent commitment worried me a little bit. I had this deep hope that Carels was already planning on signing up right at the season’s end haha.

He's not meant to be a top 6 player who tucks 15 goals. He's going to be a reliable bottom 6 who will understand his role. Good +/- and @SpudsSioux mentioned that he can kill penalties. 200-foot player who has 2 years experience and was one of CC's better players.

I love this snag. He'll be a great 3rd/4th liner that will likely stay both years. Right handed depth guy that is responsible defensively and can splash some offense in there. awesome

Ok this tidbit has completely changed my mindset on this fella. I had noticed the decent +/- and TOI for a bad team which was a good sign. But having a guy that is willing to sell out to shut things down gets me pumped up.

Feels a heck of a lot less stressful this off-season (this is Captain Obvious speaking). It’ll be nice having a roster that is probably nearly complete by the end of spring, give or take a few pieces. Slightly different than a roster rounded out in August by Ollie last year

If he doesn’t graduate and move on with life, He won’t transfer to go looking for playing time elsewhere. He knew what his role would be when he came in so if he’s going to be on a roster it’ll be at UND

I honestly think he's more than happy to have had the season he's had. Even if he doesn't win a natty, I don't think he regrets his decision one bit as he's flourished over there. I still don't like the fact that he completely checked out in the 2nd half of the season last year, but I honestly forget about him at times

I'm a dummy. Carry on haha Although I still am bummed about Jubenvil. I'm a fan of his simple defensive style. Boring but very solid.

I figured Jubenvil would portal out but I didn't think Strathmann would but now you have me worried about that haha. We need some of these guys to age up and stay in the lineup but both of them would be Top-4 guys at other places so I get it. Love getting the opportunity to have skilled younger guys but we all know how it goes with too young of a D corp.
