A few months ago if you would have asked me if Jundt was going to get to UND I would have said no because it seemed like he wasn’t progressing as well as expected. But I think he’s going to prove me wrong Sure he’ll likely be a depth player but no team gets it done without them. It definitely helps that he’s got 2 more years to keep building

If Jackson Kunz was playing for this current coaching staff he would be on the 3rd/4th line where he belonged instead of trying to force him into a top 6 role just because he’s a Grand Forks boy. Calling @gfhockey for an order of grindaz.

2026-27 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Probably true but I don’t know if he’s a high end goal-scorer at even strength since 6 of his 10 goals were on the power play. But he had 21 assists so it seems like he’s also a good playmaker and that’ll be especially tested and hopefully true if he’s on a line with Simpson and Kernan. I assume he’ll get a look on the power play; maybe they try him on the right flank since he’s a lefty with a heavy shot. -

It’s the time of year to start guessing so here we go Swanson-Reschny-Zellers Magnussen-Kernan-Simpson Croal-Ollie-Lindberg (shutdown line) Zakreski-Malinoski- Davis Menghini- B. Schultz-A. Schultz Carels-Emery Laurila-Verhoeff Mackenzie-Boser Dumanski-Lindberg Spoons Heil Scheiwiller I feel decent about my D pairings but this forward group is tough, especially trying to figure out who is going to sit. Kernan played great at center but could be lethal at wing this year. I’m not sold on Malinoski yet so I put him bottom 6. Predictions: Reschny, Swanson, and Magnussen a will each get 25+ assists this year with their playmaking skills. Zellers with 25+ goals, Kernan and Simpson each with 15+ goals. Good luck to the bottom 6 forwards going to war each week to stay in the lineup. -
Snagging some pros is the only way they're going to be competitive in the NCHC the next couple of years.

I don't think I remember the last time we swept them in Denver. Been at least 20 years, right? which is truly wild

Fully agree with you. He will be top 4 wire to wire. And I’d assume top pair for at least the first 2-3 months since no other dman on the team is a better pure defensive dman. He’s going to be the first one on the ice any time we are protecting a late lead . -
So we traded Malinoski for Homer. It's a win-win because we both got what we needed haha.
-
I was thinking the same thing for a while but he seems to have popped again lately
-
I would have guessed he was going to end up scouting or admin at the pro level. Even USHL GM would be fitting. Or better yet, stay close to the Cities and watch your son play college for a couple of years.

As time moves on, that 2013 natty just gets weirder and weirder. At the time I was a little surprised but at this point I’m just bewildered. Talk about taking advantage when you had a glimmer of hope. Thinking of the scary good teams of college hockey the last 20 years that didn’t with a natty yet somehow Yale did it with a decent team.

Can’t blame him too much for taking the opportunity to play with his brother. Guessing it didn’t hurt that Nodak will be the much better team on paper -

Up until 2 weeks ago I was assuming Davis was going to be riding pine a fair amount of the season but now it’s anyone’s guess. We are going to have some great college guys sitting out each night. -

Kernan will be a big offensive threat too. Guessing he will tuck 15+ goals as a top 6 guy this year -

He's getting the C, that's my guess. Second guess would be Swanson. I'd go Croal with the C, Swanson, Reschny, and Emery get the A's -

Gotta feel Croal is a STRONG contender to wear the C. He's the one I'm giving it to. -

I’m excited to have him on the team and jacked up to watch him progress throughout the year. But the way he’s talking makes it feel like he’s got one foot in and one foot out already. I know he’ll give it everything and have a killer work ethic while he’s here; it’s just feels weird going in assuming you’re a one and done. Guys like Makar, Sanderson, werenski, Hughes, Hutson all did 2 years and it served them greatly; no need to be in a hurry. But with him I’ll take one and done over nothing at all. -
And your thoughts on Hage? Since my point was more so high picks staying longer thanks to NIL. Which is going to make it more likely that these high end teams will actually start winning the final games of the year with the top players being older.
-
It’s a bit different now because some of these high end picks are staying a year or 2 longer thanks to the NIL money. Michael Hage and Perron sticking around for Michigan would have never happened if it weren’t for the bag of cash teams can use now
-
I think we can assume Duluth will be just fine. They always land on their feet with goaltending the last 15 years. Plus their forward/defense will be so good this year that it'll help Reyelts get things rolling. Their top 6 is going to be brutal to play against.

Jackson Blake did an ECH interview when he was a freshman saying he wanted to play 4 years lol

Justen Close (gasp, a Canadian) was a 25-year old his final season. Souliere (Canadian) was 25 or 26 at the end of the year as well.
