SiouxFan100 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 UND players in the portal as reported by the Forum: UND (7): Augustus German, OL; Donavan Hunt, RB; Cole Hentges, QB; David Neuberger, LS; Isaac Folland, OL; Caden Cetak, DL; Trey Feeney, QB. I didn’t know qb hentges was in the portal and I think neuberger is back Quote

shep Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Did anyone else see that Walters (from RR) had a post on Twitter showing his Senior stats? I can't find it now. I can't understand why he'd be advertising himself if he's committed to SDSU/Danny Quote

One way to initiate discussion is to have his former RR teammates try to convince him to switch. I don’t believe other schools are allowed to recruit players once signed to a school but there are ways to communicate indirectly. The kid lives in GF so it wouldn’t be difficult for him to know of UND’s interest. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 1 Posted January 1 So how’s it work with LOI’s and the portal when coaches move after signing day? Is there an exemption for players to void the LOI and go elsewhere? @Hammersmith? Quote

For those who aren't familiar with Red River football, former UND player Vyrn Muir is the head coach, and former UND player and assistant coach Mike Mannausau is an assistant. There are also former RR players who are on the team at UND right now, such as Paine Parks and Lawson Lotysz. 2 Quote

Popular Post AJS Posted January 3 Popular Post Posted January 3 Per 360, there will be 3 guys visiting this weekend. Hoskins (UM), Walker (SDSU), Lewis (NAU). Also… chance Sam Hagen comes back. 8 Quote

He was second team all Big Sky on a pretty good NAU team 3 Quote

Tell me more about "Run Away Sam" and why would we want him back. Did he start for the Jacks last season? I guess pulling a starter away from the Jacks would be a decent reason. 2 4 Quote

Would solidify the UND offensive line amongst all five starting spots and offensive line is the most important position group in all of football. Would be a major step towards giving UND a consistent offensive effort that raises the floor of the 2025 season and helps out Schmidty’s defense in year one of the 4-2-5 transition. I also excuse the guys who left following 2023 as the program was headed in a horrible direction (and hence a 5-game losing streak and a losing season in 2024). You don’t extend a lame duck coach, lose the current offensive coordinator of Washington State and head coach heir apparent to a rival in a lateral move, and lose your newly hired replacement offensive coordinator alum to your rival within one week without some guys rightfully saying what the f*ck? Anything else? 1 5 Quote

Anything else? While I don’t excuse him for leaving even with your last paragraph…..I think with the current state of college football if you have the opportunity to add talent you do it. It’s up to the kid to earn the respect back of his teammates. The look of a team from coaching staff to players will change so much from year to year now so holding a grudge isn’t worth it. People leave jobs and come back all the time. 8 Quote

Popular Post forksandspoons Posted January 3 Author Popular Post Posted January 3 1) take a starter away from SDSU OL (they took Danny, Rouse, Pabst, Hagen, etc. from us). Do it back. Should be going after Walters as well 2) ask him what they’re doing as a program that will help UND leapfrog them 8 Quote
UND1983 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Can we really blame him for leaving after what we saw last year from Bubba and this team? 2 2 Quote

I'm pretty much a 'don't let the door hit you in the arse' guy but I'd welcome him back. Local guy, great player and the landscape of college fb has changed so much lately that I think we need to get with the times and get better any way we can. And............I randomly connected with his family at tailgating 2 years ago and they always had a big party going and offered up great food and drinks to me. 6 Quote
