Yes he did.  A little chat with coach and he decide UND is the place to be.

Another day and we got one player back with no new announcements of players entering and leaving. We do need some to leave, don’t we, to make space?

 I would have thought many more would have entered if no coaching change.

The long snapper and holder are underrated in importance to the kicking game.  On place kicks it is the difference between the kicker starting his swing before he has a target or starting with ball already in place.  It is a big deal. 

Neuberger was so solid he mostly went unnoticed and that's a good thing.  It is great to get him back.

If there are scholarship players who the new coaches determine aren’t a good fit anymore, how is that handled?

Scholarships are annual not four years.

Unless you are player transferring down to get more playing time now is not the time to transfer unless you have guaranteed under the table offers. Too many unknowns for guys to just take a chance. Some were lucky to get any higher conference offer and some never did. This FBS roster reduction is going to have huge impacts.

In 2023 only about 45% of fb players who entered the portal found new teams. It’ll be worse this year.

Players all home for Christmas break I assume. I wonder if they all had a chance to talk over their status with the coaches.

looking to see once the entering the portal starts.  I know that this year is different but still am surprised not much activity so far.

Finals week is Dec. 16-20 per academic calendar. Based on a few of his interviews, I’ve pieced together last Thursday / Friday were one on ones to get to know each guy. He did say that he was going to meet with each guy and go over more football aspect, etc as well. Portal closes Dec. 28. You would think the Football discussions would need to happen this upcoming week. 
 

Next week is going to be very busy. We should know the coaching staff / portal exits. 
 

Hoping between 10-12 guys enter (3 so far). Coaching initiated. With the change in defense, need to change the % of players in those respective groups. 
 

Schmidt is pitching a perfect game through week one. This week will be as challenging. I’m not even focused yet on getting guys from portal. Just getting coaching staff in place, retaining roster and a bit of attrition (program initiated) through guys entering.

Love it. Wish he’d have more D1 type offers but I’m just going to trust the staff…. For now.
