I said “I don’t think” (just my opinion) that it will matter one way or the other with regards to Bubba’s future. That means I believe the decision has been made and the results Saturday won’t change the decision. I said it won’t do the program any good to lose. You may be ok with losing, but fortunately, you aren’t playing. Maybe you should self reflect a bit to see who thinks they have all of the answers. I have stated on a number of occasions that my opinion is just that and no more important than anyone else’s. It’s ok if “most here” disagree with my opinion. You all may be correct. I certainly have a different perspective based on my experiences. Others opine based on their experiences. Who cares if we disagree? No reading deficiencies, thanks for your concern (but no thanks). Been confirmed by outside parties. Anyways, you know what they say about opinions? Yeah, well, based on that infinite wisdom, I’m not surprised you have one (just like everyone else, including myself). It’s becoming very clear that executive action is needed, and I hope to see it become reality soon. I always hope for UND to do well, but we’re at that point where hoping for a loss is apparent to many, and that should tell you all you need to know about the current state of the program …

Popular Post Siouxperman8
I have heard rumblings that a decision has been made on Bubba staying or going and this game won't impact that decision either way. The person I heard it from is pretty well connected but didn't tell me how he knows. Regardless, I will never cheer for UND to lose in anything. Just can't do it.

Although I think the Covid year was a positive, it wasn’t the same as a regular fall season and we didn’t use any momentum to move the program forward. Beating SDSU, NDSU and Montana is what competing at this level is about. If scattered occasional wins against them is what we think is a mark of success, we are in trouble. We should be beating those teams more than not. It’s a measure of how far we need to go rather than how far we have come. I don’t know what will happen after the season and I don’t make the decision, but I hope we don’t see a mass exodus into the portal nor loss of committed recruits. 1

Many coaches on hot seat fire coordinators during or end of season. Which to me, is a positive because you can start your search for a new coordinator early. However, at UND it is about usually loyalty (took forever for a new strength coordinator) and so as it was to be like Rudy and wait till end of season. Hopefully, someone from strong FCS, FBS or NFL background can be bought in and so we can evaluate and draw in better talent along with a new defensive scheme. Good question. He took too long to dump Rudy so I’m not so sure. Anything short of a conference championship and/or deep run in the playoffs won’t cut it if he’s still here. If he is gone it won’t matter.

He says the first head coach to look at primary O and D coaches and call them coordinators was a genius. Gives him 4 more years. Can fire one and that buys him 2 years and then do it again with the other one before they come for him.

Also gave up 35 against a terrible Murray State team.

ND-fan
I think article on FBS in Herald by Tom Miller is probably is opening of what administration plan for UND football. With change in FBS rules on roster size we’re are seeing how UND rebuild program in short order. The question then does become is it at the top or is it at coordinator levels how they choose to improve the program. My bet is at coordinator level because of cost of buy out for Bubba. The saving of this money then can be used to hiring top coordinator who could become in house candidate for future coach. Second UNd probably willfind top talent to build up defense as well build with longterm recruits to keep program competitive.Third with.change of FBS rosters players transferring from FCS probably is going to be reduced and possibility of dropping down could easily occur for players that do transfer. I got to believe will only be top FCs players that will be moving. This is going effect teams above us in Valley more will they be able to retain talent that has chance to play in the NFL this will be players that FBS will be looking at encouraging to go into the portal. College football world is changing FCS is definitely will be level of talent between FBS and Division II. The days where NDSU will have seven or eight NFl players on roster is going to disappear and if you have players of that ability will be gone after season with you. But getting back to Und I can see where they will choose to replace part of coaching staff and Bubbas fate will come when he is closer to end of his contract. I could be wrong and I am speculating on this but more of on field coaching will be done by coordinators and Bubba will be more general manger handling day to day business affairs of the team. This will follow UND conservative approach on handling personnel and business end of athletics. History of UND is they are family like organization very rarely have people been fired publicly but changes usually occur behind the scenes which I think has been in process will see how plays out in next month. Firing Rudy and expecting better from the offense was reasonable as Bubba doesnt seem all that involved over on that side of the ball regardless of the conspiracy theories... Firing your 3rd DC and expecting your defense to get better while keeping the mastermind of this crap defense is the definition of insanity. The defense has had solid games here and there.. but its been terrible season by season for a long time.
