SiouxHawkGuy Posted September 11 Posted September 11 San Diego on bye week while Hawks play Bengals Quote
Sioux94 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 The next step for the team will be to see if we can still move the ball consistently when the opposing defense completely sells out to stop the run. Hopefully we can check that box this weekend. 3 Quote

AJS Posted September 11 Posted September 11 You really couldn't pick a better opponent for this program if they're trying to flip the script on issues that have plagued them during Bubba's tenure. It's the opponent people think about most when it comes to failing to cash in after big wins. One week at a time! Quote
forksandspoons Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Per Tom Miller the ISU center is out. Hopefully Orlando and company + the crowd can make it a nightmare for the backup. 2 Quote

Not sure what your reason is for coming over here and puffing your chest based on the last few years. It's a game, enjoy it. Never saw if you were coming to Grand Forks but if you were many would offer you refeshments - just stop acting like bison fans. I love getting a rise out of you guys..... But please don't compare me to a bison fan that's about as bad as calling me a BYU fan. It might not seem like it but I actually root for UND except when they play ISU. Just listened to both of the head coachs and it's going to be fun.... 9 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Anyone know why the next three game start at 1:00 even with no hockey? Figured at least 1 of them would be a 3:00 kickoff. 1 1 Quote

Midco and Bubba prefers the noon or 1 pm start so the players don’t sit around all day waiting for kickoff. Quote

A lot of coaches deal with night games all the time. It wouldn't kill our program to embrace them. The year we opened the Alerus Center (2001) we had night games before hockey started in October and those games were well attended. Bubba and Midco would get over it if it helped raise the profile of the program. 2 1 Quote
siouxfan512 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 It would be nice to see some tight ends used in this game. I feel like that would be a decent option for Romfo to get his pass game going. 2 Quote

Siouxperman8 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I always worry about teams the spread it out and sling it around. We usually struggle against them. 4 Quote

We usually struggle against them. No excuses, but you’re right. Need to adjust defensively. Can’t play base personnel designed to stop the run against a team that throws it all the time and also can’t put players with questionable tackling ability constantly in one on one situations with cover 0 man. We’ll see how it goes, but obviously important for UND to get pressure with only 4 and zone the back 7. Need to tackle well in space, no big plays. Will see if the defense shows up ready to play. Players need to show up ready to go, and coaches need to have put the players in the best position to succeed. Crowd noise (or lack thereof) will also be a factor; there is no question the UND pass rush feeds off the crowd noise if present in the Alerus. 5 Quote
forksandspoons Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Big game tomorrow. Find a way to get it done! I still think Rucker is due for a major breakout game. Offensively, Dennis and Quincy need to be involved. Crowd needs to do its part. Get to the Alerus and be loud on every down! 1 Quote

Hawkster Posted September 13 Posted September 13 This game comes down to which of our teams shows up, first half team or second half. I'm going with second half 90% of the time. UND 31 ISU 24 Quote
siouxfan512 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 In a strange situation, I have not kid's games or practices to go to tomorrow. A whole Saturday with no plans! All that is left to do is figure out if I want to watch the game from my couch or in my garage. Pumped to watch the boys play and get some momentum. Want to be a top end team, this is a game you win by multiple scores. People in Fargo and Brooking wouldn't even contemplate this being a blowout game ... can this team do that? I'm still riding the high from last week .... keep it going. LFG!!! 1 Quote
Dustin Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Not stepping out too far on the limb - UND wins by more than one score. Something like 30-21. Quote
