We move our coaches on to "Senior Positions". That says a lot about the state of the program. 2 Quote

wheelsup Posted February 26 Posted February 26 seems like the running back coach at ISU is a pretty significant salary upgrade over OC in the MVFC.. I was a little suprised to see it was so much. Quote

This is a great move for jake. He’s doing what he needs to do. I believe the iowa state cyclones fball staff is very young. I hope jake has incredible success as a coach. Like to see grand forks kids make a name for themselves.Leaving after 1 season w/ndsu will not hurt him at all. Go sioux 1 Quote

Go sioux He is a Grand Forks kid, and he also is “Jake the Snake”. With all that said, Bubba going into 2024 was a sinking ship. I can only partially blame “the snake” for briefly getting on and then quickly jumping off. Quote

geaux_sioux Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Turns out he only won the Jerry Rice because there was a conspiracy from voters to get him in the portal 😂 2 Quote
Nodak78 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Wrong thread but still sign of the times. West Virginia has over 30 enter the transfer portal. About 1/3 of the team. Ouch. Quote

The system is broke. As soon as I hit submit I figured out $$$$$ was probably the answer. Those are big numbers. The system is broken for sure. Don't know the answer but I think at some point there have to be 2 year contracts or something for players collecting NIL money. Quote

I'm fine with kids getting paid but still think the system is broken. The NCAA men's bb had all No. 1 seeds make the final 4 for the second time ever. 15 of final 16 teams were seeded 6th or higher. Any smaller teams that have a good year have their kids gone by the next year. Some HS seniors are taking it in the shorts as a lot of coaches are only interested in transfer kids. I talked to a D1 volleyball commit last week who had her scholarship pulled because the Atlantic 10 school decided to go with all transfer kids. My opinion - if it is going to be pay for play, needs to be some hooks like pro sports with contracts that include the number of years. Has to go both ways as schools/collectives and players make that commitment. The Siouxperman8 very preliminary clause - Let's say you sign with UND for $100k/year for 2 years and decide to leave after 1 year for more $$, you have a buyout clause that pays back some portion of the first $100k to the collective. The new school collective can pay that for you if they want you bad enough. 1 1 Quote
