Expand St. Cloud is a college town as with most there are pros and cons, some like to exaggerate the cons, others enjoy the pros. SCSU is in a downward spiral as far as students and funding. In the last two decades interest in the hockey program has waned, despite them having successful seasons most years. They've made some clunker decisions that have alienated them in the community (eliminating Homecoming - which they brought back after a few years), eliminating football, student issues in off campus housing. Also it's tough to compete against St. John's which seems to have a protective dome over them when it comes to their issues. Quote

How about we just up our game and start beating teams by playing better ourselves. After all, we were picked ahead of them at the beginning of the season, so our talent level should be sufficient if we start putting it together. 2 Quote

The episode deals with the infamous letter to guidance counselors in the cities stating that the school is a hostile environment for minorities. How low is their enrollment this year? That article in the strib a year ago made it sound like the school was locked in a death spiral. Quote
