The screen game with him was really good yesterday. Maag is starting to put things together, had another good game. This will only help the offense going forward if he keeps this up. Defense took a step forward in the 2nd half, now they need to build off of that. Maag is having the season he deserves, came back for his fifth season (didn't have to), had a tough injury last year. Nice to see his number being called.

Really deep insight there. And that if they would have scored on their first drive of second half it would have negated the dominating offensive performance the team put on ;)>

Nodak78
This game against MSU was a scary game after the debacle in SIU. Really glad the team flush it. I wish the fan base had but understand why. Just looking at this one game w/o knowing anything about the previous games or the schedule ahead this season for both teams. Hard to separate I know. UND battles hard all the way. This team is much more resilient then other teams in the recent past. Looking forward I really like are chances. Last time UND was homecoming against UNC. 2017. The game plan worked on Sat. lets shut down YSU run game and win the game.

Sioux94
How good was that catch that Red made along the sidelines but got called back by penalty. He can obviously catch, so I think we have a burner type right now should Danny choose to send him deep a few times to try and stretch the defense.

No one else is shocked. You keep posting nonsense about Kostich. (A guy who was respected for his work at Minnesota before coming to UND). Our special teams play has been very good this year and our special teams recruiting just got a commitment from an outstanding kicker from Fargo South. Somehow you have reached the conclusion based on a players mistake not only is Kostich to blame but you have continually posted he should be replaced. When our special teams have had a bad game you have wanted him fired, but when they are playing well you have changed to wanting him gone for one bad play. 1

Everyone has to remember that Siouxfan97 yelled at Tommy for not running it on the play below. Tommy scrambled out to his left to bye time, yes he had a little open room but that defender in the flat was screaming upfield at him at full speed. Tommy wouldn't have picked up any yards on that play and he would have taken a hit. How many huge plays has Tommy made scrambling out to the right or left, and he has run it several times when it was completely wide open and picked up yards. But because Tommy threw it away on that play and doesn't run it every time he gets outside Siouxfan97 wants to pull Tommy and put Romfo in. He literally called for Romfo to come in and play yesterday, that is why you can't take half of his posts serious. Yeah let's pull a guy who is 1st in completions, completion percentage, and Interceptions in the conference for an unknown commodity just because he can run better. Makes perfect sense.

Popular Post siouxfan512
Kostich may not be perfect, but none of our coaches are. Danny had some offensive blunders at times. Holinka has allowed so many TDs on the 1st drives of the game that its easy to want to turn the game off right away. Bubba has been .... well Bubba! All have also shown their ability to adjust. Danny has had some plays that are just pure genius. The pitch to Smith this week was the perfect call at the perfect time. Holinka may let a score in early on a regular basis, but the guy makes adjustments, this week was no different. Kostich has improved ST over a few years ago. Kick coverage has been good. Kicking has gotten better. Punting has been solid. We've had 2 MVFC ST players of the week in the last 3 weeks. And credit to Bubba .... he has been more aggresive on 4th downs and is showing more trust in his guys. Good season so far .... Will have to wait to see if it can be a great season! *Side note: Any criticism on Tommy is hilarious, this kid has taken a HUGE step forward this year. Really glad we get to have him next season too. His ability to stay calm and extend play has been so beneficial and he has shown this numerous times this season. Kid has been fun to watch!

Absolutely. The "experts" have been proven wrong. Tommy is so cool out there and let's face it, most of the time he's scrambling away from large men who want to hurt him. CUE the "experts" saying "But he hasn't won the big games"

Entire team, coaches included, need to be looked at. Quarterback position is a focal point, though, for good reason. In big wins, like vs #7 Missouri State, Schuster deserves a ton of credit. He played very well in 2nd half of game. But so did the entire team, namely the offense next big game? The game on Saturday, where UND can prove to everyone, including themselves, that they can follow up a big win with a win on the road to keep the momentum going. a loss here would be crippling as it would push the team back to the status quo- what the track record of Bubba has been. Win and the narrative potentially changes.

Plus MSU's 6'3", 250lb DE is crashing from the side which removes any sort of 1 on 1 move Tommy could have tried. Throwing this ball away was absolutely the right call. He bought a bit of time to see if anyone could get open and then got rid of it.
The Sicatoka
Someone asked if people thought it over at 21-10. I was unimpressed by the 55 yard run given up as the first play from scrimmage.
The Sicatoka
How many teams can say they played FOUR quarterbacks in a game: Schuster, Vaughn, Romfo for the goal line RPO, Feeney to run victory formation*. *He did take two shotgun snaps (run plays) which did concern me given our propensity for "airmailing" those at times. The Sicatoka
They called for a two point play at 26-21. To me that's easy; that's the right decision to try to go up seven. But at 32-21, they ran a two point play (yes, it worked, 34-21 and up 13); but, I would've called for the K and go up 12. Your thoughts?
