Not to speak for him, but if I recall Cratter never believed the doomsday death projections.  It's looking like he was correct.

Not believing/trusting the numbers in this case means having a bias that the physical death count being reported by medical professionals is too high and that the death being experience by COVID should instead be reallocated to different categories as the primary source of death.

Could ask the same about the people committing suicide and domestic violence that has ramped up because of this?

FPD reported a 14% uptick in domestic abuse reports since beginning of March.

I heard a stat yesterday, that it was 22%, but not sure if that was local, statewide, or national.

36% in Paris.  Also, now that these people are stuck with their partner pretty much 24/7, I'd imagine the percentage that actually report domestic violence is even lower than it is under normal conditions.

Yikes.....but France isn't Germany or Italy. Please stay on point if you would.

How about this novel (pun intended) concept in a supposedly free country:

Here are the facts, we suggest that you self quarantine if you are an at-risk group, and we suggest limiting your social engagements and possible exposure.  Now go make your choices and live or die by them.

Even after new York decided to lump all unattended deaths into the covid category, the total deaths are still trending well below the early doomsday estimates.

Some auto insurance companies are refunding some money to customers due to less driving going on during this shutdown.

It appears that many/most hospitals are losing large sums of money due to the loss of non COVID19 patients.  Should we expect medical insurance companies to refund some of the premiums being paid ?   About the same likelihood of the Sioux name coming back.

1.  The demand for non-covid cases will be pent up.  Expect a near capacity surge after the crisis lifts.

2.  Much of “insured” are actually self-funded, so the insurance company isn’t risk-bearing, the employer is.

3.  If at the end of the year on the fully-insured land at a loss ratio less than 85, the insurers will need to true that up per the ACA.

end of the day, you won’t see a check, but you might see some premium relief next year.

Took a lot of balls to make that call. “Look, we did something proactive.”

Yea, because the risk of catching coronavirus while...[checks notes]...driving a 30+ mile loop in the badlands in your car or truck is so great.

You run a bigger risk of having your vehicle dented by an angry buffalo!

.....and let's not forget the number of elk tags issued  in ND per year is 3x the population of Medora.
