To WBL's defense, Blaine was the #2 seed and a dang tough draw,  WBL played pretty well today.

I watched the section final between WBL and Hill-Murray last week.  WBL won, but I didn't think it was pretty at all and actually thought Hill-Murray was the better team for very big stretches of that game.  I didn't expect WBL to do much in this tournament.

My big question regarding seeding for this tournament, how the heck does Moorhead draw Edina in the QF?  Moorhead is better and has a better resume than both WBL and Lakeville South.  I understand only the first 5 are seeded, are the next 3 just random draw?  If so that stinks for Moorhead and, actually, stinks for Edina because they got a tougher draw in round 1.

Moorhead always gets screwed because they're not from the metro.  It's annoying, year after year, and this is how it ends up for them.

Like somebody said, you gotta beat the best to be the best, but it sucks playing a tougher team in the first round and getting dumped into the consolation bracket.

I like Lou Nanne. What did I miss?

A schools shouldn’t be in the state tournament those kids can’t skate catch a pass or shoot. Said that on kfan a couple years ago.  Paul Allen and Mark Rosen didn’t know how to respond.

My favorite Lou Nanne quote came a few years back when he was on Kfan leading up to the WCHA tournament and all the pearl clutching fans of Donny's Ice Angels were calling in whining about how rough and cheap the Sioux were and he said "I don't see that from them at all. You have to realize that in hockey physicality is a skill and it is one that UND excels at and it is a skill the Gophers don't seem to have much of." He went on to elaborate about making and finishing hits but staying in the play and that with the Gopher players always talking about how they were going to be tougher and harder to play against showed that UND was winning the mind game against them as well as UND didn't have to talk about being tough and hard to play against, they just naturally were.

A good move... let it dissapear. It really wasnt that bad. I cant stand the guys play calling but, its not career ending worthy. with the gophers in big playoffs he wont be seen again this year there either.

Bury it come back fresh next year....

drunk and mumbling as usual.............. but fresh.

I think he is just pining for a return of the one-class format. Which is fine, but don't disparage Class A. Implying that players like T.J. Oshie and Brock Nelson can't skate, catch a pass or shoot is just plain stupid (both aforementioned players starred at Class A Warroad).

Lou nanne's arrogance is really annoying...

If a team isn't from "the metro" or one of those snooty private schools, they aren't worth jack squat. That is the attitude of the Twin Cities media, has been for years. That's why it's great when EGF, Warroad and Roseau win big in March and shut them up.

East coast bias.

The 16 time world heavyweight champion Ric Flair said something similar....”To be the man, you gotta beat the man.....WOOOOOO!”

Yep the last time the trophies were 20 minutes apart he was in tears that section 8 held them both.
