If it’s anything even remotely like this season, buh-bye! I dunno about that but it’s amazing seeing the pivot from Hakstol being excoriated for not winning a Frozen Four in what, seven chances, to defending Berry for missing NCAA tournaments altogether “because three straight Penrose Cups.” 4 Quote

I would be more than fine with moving on. I just really don’t see it happening after this year. Quote

The trend however. barring a miracle run to the NCHC championship, has definitely not been upward. North Dakota has 1 NCAA tournament win since 2016 against someplace called American International College. 1 post-season win. Now ask yourself, would Dean Blais or Dave Hakstol have survived that statistic? I doubt it. 8 Quote

90siouxfan Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Wonder if the former AD would be taking a differing view? Mentioned earlier, UM women's coach "asked to step down".... is that just semantics or does "stepping down" get the school out of a contract? Quote

The quotes seem to suggest a parallel between Tony Granato and Brad Berry. Granato at UW, 7 seasons: 105-129-16 (.452), 1 regular season championship, 0 NCAA tournament wins Berry at UND: 8 seasons, 178-90-31 (.647), 4 regular season championships, 5 NCAA tournament wins, 1 NCAA championship I'm not seeing the parallel. Berry may or may not be the right guy to lead UND hockey, but the anti-Berry crowd will need to do better than comparing him to Tony Granato. 5 Quote

Yeah whether you are a Berry supporter or not, it's pretty hard to compare those two coaching resumes. 3 Quote

At all, in fact anything inferred could be.... "There's no way in hell I'd swap Berry for Granato" 2 Quote

As a matter of fact, I've never been one to say that Berry should be released. Quote
