A win tonight and this team gets back to "neutral" in the NCHC standings. They would have officially dug themselves out of the hole they found themselves going into Christmas break. That would be huge.

Nice shot of Jones, good thing we didn't need that goal.

Puck wide left, the story of their season.

How much of the slower 2nd and 3rd periods are by design with a 2 goal lead?  Dump the puck and keep fresh legs on the ice, playing to their defensive strength. As mentioned previously... Survive.

No Kierstad tonight after the spear last night, schloss just confirmed.

More minutes for Poolman.

Just don't get it? Why? What was the point? Forwards are short-handed to begin with now another Dman out. UND won't put out a full lineup tonight.

BTW UND now has 6.......SIX.......game misconducts already this season.

I guess I don't blame Kiersted much here. Weak call on a scuffle after he was slashed and speared by the Pio.

Ummmmmmm.......ok.

He took the bait after the final horn and now he sits. Pretty sure DU will take that.

Neither do I, but like Gooch, return the slash with a slash,  not a spear.

Good trade again for Denver. You lost, take a cheap shot to get a retaliation.  Much like MDU.

Exactly my point. You could see it coming after the final horn. The DU player knew exactly what he was doing. Is it in the code of hockey one needs to retaliate?

Don't want to go back to last weekend but did Wolf get suspended? 2DQs on the weekend. Did the NCHC suspend him?

Also didn't see the penalty. If the suspension was warranted then so be it.

Was dumb to retaliate like that. Referees totally missed the DU slash,  and called roughing on DU for the punch after the spear.  Slash him back,  punch, whatever. Don't make it so obvious to get a major on review

The next time that Wolff is assessed a game misconduct, he will get suspended for a game. Dixon Ward has the same issue, he's sitting at two game misconducts

Rule 22 - Game Misconduct Penalties
22.1 Game Misconduct Penalty - A game misconduct penalty involves
the suspension of a player, coach or other non-playing persons for the
balance of the game; however, a substitute is permitted to replace a
player immediately. The offending player, coach or non-playing persons
must leave the bench and playing surface immediately and may not
communicate with or contact team personnel in any manner until the
game is completed. Any contact with game officials is prohibited.
Medical personnel cannot be assessed a game misconduct penalty.
A player who is assessed a game misconduct penalty is suspended for the
remainder of that game only. The player shall be allowed to play in the team’s
next scheduled game.

22.2 Suspensions - A player who receives three (3) game misconduct penalties
in the same season (including exhibition games) shall not be permitted
to play in the team’s next regular-season or tournament game against an
NCAA member institution. For each additional game misconduct penalty
(e.g. four, five, etc.) assessed to the same player in the same season, the
player shall be suspended for one (1) additional game.
This shall not be
part of a progressive penalty structure. Exhibition games cannot be used to
fulfill the suspension for this violation.

I don't think UND is the only team dealing with an increase of misconducts. It seems like the refs are calling more majors and misconducts this year. Duluth has had several, as has Western that I remember off hand. Wonder if it'll be like years past when that aspect of the rules is abandoned after Christmas.

Now that it can be reviewed players have to check their emotions.  Even if they call the roughing/slash you still retaliated with a major penalty, and if its away from the play a camera likely saw it. (Gooch)

Up three goals in the final minute you wouldn't mind @MafiaManand @Oxbow6 taking that last shift on defense, but it is what it is.....
