That's the 14-15 FY report I used for my numbers earlier.

Didn't know that you posted all of the data in this report.

Not saying I did.  Just saying that's where I got my numbers.

I'm not sure how that changes anything?  It says what we already knew.

I don't think I've ever seen a link to the source.  I'm sure some people would like to take a look at the raw data.

Oh I see.

I presumed many in this discussion were privy to the 13-14 FY report link that jdub27 posted earlier this year and in the budget thread that was discussed ad nauseum.

Very similar on that side in the 13-14.

Guess not.

Not a big deal.

Family connections but not to the Whalen's Moving other than distantly.

Her mother is a Vilandre I believe.  Grandfather is Casey Vilandre.  Both of her parents are from GF.

While I know that travel costs would go down for Football in the MVFC, how much would costs go down (if at all) if UND was put in a Big Sky division with the Montana schools, UNC, Idaho, Idaho State and Weber State for example.

We'd still be flying most everywhere, so not much.

Her parents are Neil and Kathy.

From an ESPN article.  http://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/6996419/lindsay-whalen-breathes-life-minnesota-lynx

Kathy and Neil are both originally from Grand Forks, N.D. They met in third grade.

It hit me a while after posting earlier that his name was Neil.  I found this picture linked to this site.  Sorry for the thread drift.

Thanks for posting.  It will take some time to digest but this is very interesting data - data that may not be great for those of us who think women's hockey needs to disappear.

At minimum, the data says the women's hockey coaching staff makes a combined $100,000 more per year than men's basketball. This is disgraceful and Faison should be embarrassed.

Because Faison controls the market, right? Do you have any idea how economics works? Supply and demand? There are >300 D1 men's basketball programs cranking out well over 1000 grads per year, all of whom are presumably qualified to be a paid (admittedly, lowly) assistant at a D1 school. Not to mention thousands upon thousands of lower division players. That's a new crop of hungry-for-experience coaching meat IN ADDITION TO the existing pool of candidates, every year.  Does anyone believe that the competition for college hockey coaches - particularly on the women's side - even approaches that level?

Moreover, your selected data without reference to market factors such as league/regional averages, years of experience, etc. is completely meaningless.

This is at least the second post criticizing BF because the total line item budget for (poster's less preferred sport) is higher than the total line item budget for (poster's more preferred sport), oblivious to the simple and obvious fact that some sports just cost more to play. When did sports fans become such socialists?

If you want to say that the MBB assistants are underpaid, fine. We can gather some data and have that discussion. But don't lazily shovel that crap on the WH program with nothing to back it up.
