Didn't want to go through and read a lot to try and find the answer to my question, so I'll throw it here.

I noticed they changed the times/number of media time outs.  Used to be first whistle without a change restriction after the 5's (15, 10, 5).  What is it now, and any reason why they changed it?

The NCHC changed it to two TV timeouts but I don't remember when the timeouts happen. I think about after 6 minutes and 12 minutes. The timeouts are also 3 minutes instead of 2. Other conferences have gone this route also but I don't know what the reasoning is. Same amount of time so I don't see that it speeds up the game.

So my NCHC TV has not auto renewed yet. Should I be concerned?

It’s supposed to renew a year after you subscribed.

Mine hasn't either. Subscriptions are supposed to renew a year after subscribing, like @Blackheart said.

You can check the renewal date under the "Account/My Subcriptions" section of NCHC.tv.

I originally subscribed in early October (2013 or 2014 or something) but now it's set to renew in mid-November. Which is weird.

You shouldn't have any interruption in service...they'll just auto-renew and you'll be good to go.

I subscribed at the start of the first season NCHC,TV was available and it auto renews in November for me too. A word of caution for everyone - check your credit card expiration date before renewal. Mine had expired a few years ago which has caused me to have to remind them every year that I subscribed early on and they promised the original price as long as I am a subscriber. So they charge me the current price ($113?) and after a couple of emails I get refunded back to the original price (about $90).

Hey, is ESPN + available on either Disney or Amazon Prime  video? Looking ahead for the BU games.

If you get the Disney+ bundle for 12.99 a month, you get Hulu+ and ESPN+ as well.

"The majority of the games to air on Gray’s stations will take place on Saturday nights starting in January and will be announced at a later date.  "

This is interesting. This will get a lot of people in the South, Southeast, and Mid-West into college hockey that might not see games.

Wonder how much the NCHC is getting from this deal and the TSN deal.

More sports are moving back to OTA broadcast with the demise of the regional sports networks.  OTA picture quality is vastly superior to cable.

Television HD standards are universal - broadcast quality is dependent on broadcasting schools.  How it's delivered doesn't matter at all.  Compare any UND broadcast to a crap-show from Miami of Ohio.  Didn't matter WHERE it was broadcast - it's all about how...TV 101

Uh, no. Cable is frequently compressed versus an OTA signal. It absolutely matters.  Watching a CBS or other network broadcast over an antenna bv a cable version it's very clear, even moreso in places with ATSC 3.0 broadcasts.

That's a separate issue from lower quality broadcast like Miami or CCs prior to moving to the new arena. Those will be bad no matter what.

It has been a few years but if you have the chromecast stuff installed on whatever device you are using, there should be an option to cast it from there to the chromecast hooked to whatever TV you want it on.

Chromecast isn't really an app based device, its meant to allow you to stream from one device to another.

the "newish" chromecast with the little remote allows apps to be "installed"....i have 3 different gens of em....they are awesome...this is the first one with a remote i've tried.

can't find nchc app on there....and they don't really mention it on their info page.
