I assume you mean Tyler. Tobey would be the first to jump from equipment manager to asst. coach. Of course nobody could do it better or with more flare than Tobes.

OOPS...yeah i meant tyler...talked to coach oliver today and i asked him if he was heading to his interview and he laughed pretty hard...

Mark Osiecki anyone?

Mark coached one year (1996-97...a good year!) at UND, has experience at all levels of hockey from USHL to NHL, is a defensive specialist, and is currently an assistant in the AHL....hardly a glorious spot to have landed in after getting snubbed at OSU.

That makes sense.

I asked someone plugged in to the Wisco program if Osiecki would be interested in the UND assistant position. I was told no.

"Just like Blais, right?"  He would get a pass - but I bet Asst. Coaches have to work harder than Head Coaches - I don't see Blais wanting to be an Asst.

Blais was an assistant for five years at UND under Gasparini, left, then came back as a head coach.  Either way, he's a Gopher alum.

He did turn down the Wisconsin job, I could see him making his way to Philly.

So do u think whoever they hire will be a favorite candidate to be Head Coach if Berry does not stay long term ?

History says Berry will be here a decade or so. I wouldn't read that part into it. Unless Hakstol becomes wildly successful and poaching from the U.S. collegiate ranks becomes the fashionable thing to do.

I can see that happening - & hope it does in Haks case

I was just wondering if Faison & Kelly think of such things

Or history says the tradition and facilities make it easy to be a coach at UND...or not and you miss a few NCAA tourneys and you're gone....no one knows. Berry doesn't have an unlimited leash.
