Kudos to the alerus center for being chill and letting the students/fans celebrate on the field … even provided party music

I heard that the president had a bit of sway with Alerus Center in allowing it to happen. Whether true or not I'm glad they got to do it.

So while I agree with the idea that traditions can’t be forced, that doesn’t mean you can’t try something and it might work.

In Ames Saturday, I got to experience the “Juicy Wiggle” song and choreographed dance by the Cyclone faithful. They started this in 2018 and Have done it pretty consistently at football and basketball ever since.   They play it after a big moment in the game or to get the fans going. It was amazing.

Would love to see something like this at the Alerus and potentially at the Ralph, Betty, etc.

I would say To y Keith’s “A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action” or “Get Drunk And Be Somebody” would appeal to almost every age group!

The first one would be a no brainer (maybe a little too realistic or slightly offensive?). The second might not apply but a real dance song!

UND has historically been tone deaf when it comes to being engaging with the Alerus atmosphere. A night game with an outdoor concert is a nice touch, but what you do inside the building (both entertainment/music/presentation and on the field product) is still the most important. We’ll see if 2024 is any different, but based on how staffing has been handled, I won’t hold my breath. I’m just hoping for a good football game and a UND victory, anything else is just extra.
