MadScout03 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Hard to satisfy people these days... My first sentence...I think it looks fine... Satisfied? Sure. Could they have done more? Sure. Not sure where I'm so hard to please. And yes, I was referring to the symmetry of the arena name, saying they aren't even with each other, meaning the spacing from mid court. If that's being nitpicky, fine, but I don't think it's completely out there to comment on it. Quote

UND-FB-FAN Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Now that you point it out. It does look a little strange. It can be justified; it maintains directionality with the center court ND logo. On to more important upgrades: video boards. Quote
bincitysioux Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 What if they updated the Ralph with the new Pepsi Center style scoreboard and moved part or all of the "old" scoreboard over to the Betty? I have only been in the Betty once or twice so I'm not sure what kind of space constraints would have to be taken into account. This would allow the Ralph to keep up with the current arena trends while providing some much needed technology to the Betty. I am pretty sure they just replaced the video boards in REA just two seasons ago, due to a fire. I doubt they will be replacing those in the near future. Quote
jdub27 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I heard this a while back but it was confirmed in Faison's interview in Bison Illustrated, the BESC will be getting video boards next year. 3 Quote

jdub27 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 As in for the 2016-17 season?Correct. I believe the current ribbon boards are coming down in conjunction with two video boards going up. 1 Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Not trying to take away from Faison, but would this be a result of his work or the REA Foundation?I am sure Faison did a lot of coordinating and communicating to help the process along. 1 Quote
gfhockey Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Why would this info be in bison illustrated? We haven't seen the final plans year Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Why would this info be in bison illustrated? We haven't seen the final plans year I find it odd that he picked bison magazine to break that information too. As for the gobc being unaware of it, you must've been behind the 8 ball again. Quote

As for the gobc being unaware of it, you must've been behind the 8 ball again.I think the news has been out there a while, though I admit this is the first I've seen it in print. Also probably a fair assumption that despite what most of us think (myself included), a couple of video boards isn't exactly "breaking" type news. bincitysioux Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Great news about the video boards! Now just need to put in permanent seating in the North end and the Sioux Center will be a first class facility, as if it already isn't. Sorry, couldn't resist. Sometimes I think it is against the Forum Terms & Rules to go more than a few weeks without criticizing UND's ridiculously lavish facilities. Quote

But it doesn't have beer dispensers at every seat and a retractable roof. If we don't get those, we might as well just go NAIA! We'd be lucky if they'd accept us with our crap facilities and athletic department. Fire Faison until we get them! Edited September 10, 2015 by southpaw Quote

bincitysioux Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Glad that they updated the PA system too, because that wasn't a very high quality one before. Anybody that's been to volleyball notice a difference with the PA? Quote
GeauxSioux Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 This is unpossible (Ralph Wiggums word). I read in another thread where UND was in financial difficulties. Quote

The Sicatoka Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Plus ... they'll be able to sell advertising on video boards (where the existing ones don't allow for that). Sounds like an FCOA revenue stream ... Quote

If that goes through SABMiller will have to dissolve their stake in Miller Coors in the US. Quote
