The North Dakota Legislature will meet this fall and address the project’s approval, Magill said. Sounds pretty confident that construction will begin soon on Phase II, if they are looking at bringing to the legislature for approval. 1 Quote

UNDBIZ Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Haha Bisonville would be so pissed if we got public funding for this.... The schools are supposed to get legislative approval regardless of whether it's funded with public funds or donations. I believe it's been avoided in certain cases by having a foundation finance and control the project "without university involvement." Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The Legislature needs to approve new facilities of any sort because even if it is built with private funds it'll be owned and maintained by the University and as such, a new ongoing State expense. Quote

I can't imagine the legislature saying no since they (UND) are producing all the funds. Quote
jdub27 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Track was scheduled to be completed before they moved in but there is some sort of issue with moisture in the concrete and they are trying to find the best way to make sure the track can be installed properly and without issues in the future. Quote

Did they let it bleed out for at least 28 days? It is covered with a roof and no sun, therefore, its going to take longer to bleed out and cure. Quote

No clue on the details, just what I heard about why the track wasn't in yet. A lot of that concrete has been down for a few months now. Glad they are making sure it is being done right instead of rushing it though, it is going to be a really, really nice track. Quote

As someone who run the awfulness that is the Hsylop track, it's going to be a good deal for the shins of the track team. I imagine they will be able to benefit from running 200's indoors without having to take 3 turns and barreling into a propped up high jump mat. Quote
ericpnelson Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 This is supposed to be done right? Are they doing a grand opening or anything? Will the football team be using it on rainy days already? Quote
Cratter Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Looks like in addition to not having enough money in this phase for the spectator seating but also the elevated cat walk that was in the original plans. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Lots of pics on SFI.http://siouxfb.areavoices.com/2015/08/12/und-high-performance-center/1. Man that interlocking ND would look good at the Alerus. 2. Hopefully they still plan on doing something with the lower section of the wall that is currently bare concrete. It all looks great other than that. Throw some stain on there or something. Quote
