Flatland Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I believe that local newspapers probably had a large influence. In my case, the McKenzie County Farmer's Editor was on board with a "yes" vote and Omdahl also had a article printed. Both of these explained the measures rationally and probably help push the result toward yes. Quote

Contrary to what some on the coasts may think, NoDaks generally show a great degree of common sense when they go to the polls and don't get wrapped up in the hysterics or "smoke and mirrors" arguments. Siouxperfan7 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I think a lot of us were confident that the YES vote would take measure 4. But, did anyone imagine the numbers being like this? Congrats to all who got the word out there and told the facts about the issue. 1 Quote

darell1976 Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 So what can we expect from Reed and Rob Port? Also I want to hear comments from Al Carlson on this. Quote

gfhockey Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Rob Port is already thinking of conspiracy theories like how the voters were confused about the yes or no meaning Quote
darell1976 Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 256/426 Yes 62,817 or 67.51% No 30,230 or 32.49% Quote
Hayduke Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 256/426 Yes 62,817 or 67.51% No 30,230 or 32.49% Once I saw Golden Valley/Beach vote YES, I knew this would be a landslide. Quote
ScottM Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Rob Port is already thinking of conspiracy theories like how the voters were confused about the yes or no meaning Nah, they were obviously brainwashed and bribed by Tim O'Keefe and other alums. (It was money well spent. ) Quote
Hambone Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 256/426 Yes 62,817 or 67.51% No 30,230 or 32.49% This is turning into a complete landslide. I was expecting a 55-45 gap or less. Definitely a bittersweet time, but I've come to accept it. Quote
Csonked Out Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Well I am happy about the results of many of the elections that fact that 60% of the ballots are in and only 12% of the states eligible voters did is more than a bit concerning to me! Quote
UND92,96 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Rob Port is already thinking of conspiracy theories like how the voters were confused about the yes or no meaning At least he can correctly claim that the Forum poll really was way off, after all. Quote

Really guys... You know as well as anyone that the vote is not a vote on whether or not people support the name. And that it is a vote to save the university athletics. Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Yes, WE know that, but that's not what the "nickname at all costers" were saying. By the way, where are they? Trying to come up with more conspiracy theories on how "the folks in North Dakota" were "fooled" and "scared" into voting Yes and how "it ain't over yet". 2 Quote
