"Map out and gather input for the potential selection...."  A bit of a leap in logic to suggest that this Task Force will be directly involved in the selection. 

 

As annoying as this verbiage is, the fact that there are so many words preceding "adoption" and "selection" in the two clauses definitely indicates that nobody is yet willing to commit to anything.

It's time.  I hope they come up with an acceptable name that can be adopted by this coming spring/summer.  

 

I just have serious doubts that any of the names we have been bringing up will be on the final list.

The first thing they are doing is more than likely coming up with a timeline of when a new name will be selected and implemented. Then probably determine how a name will be selected. Will they take suggestions from alumni, fans, etc? Will they narrow it down to a final 10, 4, 2?? Will there be a city wide vote to narrow down the list for Kelley to decide? There is much more to the process than just deciding on a new name. And that is what this committee is being asked to do.

I have to admit that NAU did a good job with their "rebranding" last spring. 

 

They came up with a logo that is clear and distinct, timeless, and not gimmicky. I'd call it a success.

My coworker thought up this one today. We should be the Redskins and have a big red potato as the logo. We do produce a lot of red skinned potatoes. We already have the Potato Bowl. I say it's worth a shot.
