Tough place to play and the Yotes are going to be desperate. I think they've got similar turf to UNI. Goofy things can happen in the Dakota Dome. Also, I won't be shocked if they open their playbook up quite a bit.

Get the win!!

I'll say 27-17 UND.  Don't think our offense will be quite as potent in unfriendly confines, and our defense seems to be holding steady in that teens range, which is on par for USD's offense against most teams, save for really porous defenses (Murray, Drake).

I had this game down as a loss back in August, that has changed. Should be able to win this one. Still tough place to play but Schmidt will have the boys ready. Love how he preaches about overcoming 'hard' or difficult situations.

Prior to the start of the season I said one of the biggest changes I thought we would see this year is a complete shift in the mindset and mental toughness of the team. That has definitely played out. Although our Defense is just flat out better than last year, and QB play is so much better too.

The Yotes are a complete dumpster fire.   Anything less than backups in the third and fourth is unacceptable.   The Fargo boys throttled them Hawks should be able to out do them.

The Yotes' defense is still fairly stout. If you take away their Week 1 game vs Iowa State, their defense is near the top of the MVFC in nearly every category. A decent defense + being at home can keep you in most games.

I think UND should win, but not going to be surprised if it is a dog fight.

You are what you are by this point. Highlighting USD's last 3 games. 19-14 W at Indiana State, 17-14 W at UNI, 13-21 L vs Illinois State. Limited offensively, but pretty solid defensively. UND hasn't been perfect, but they've also been incredibly solid in every game. I like the Hawks by 17 in this one. Defense travels. I've been so impressed with the consistency.

Yeah came to say this. Their defense is good still. Not overly concerned about their offense but Bouman is there and is solid plus Phillips has been a workhorse since Pierre went down.

Agree.  They have a good defense, plus a good QB and top-notch RB putting up big numbers, not to mention home field advantage.

28-24 UND

Don't overthink it. This isn't even close to last year's Coyote team. Their wins are against Drake, UNC in OT and the bottom three MVC schools (who are winless in the league and 4-20) overall.

You can't look past any opponent, but this is a team that UND should defeat handily if they are who we think they are.

UND 41-17

Agree, although I recall even back in the 90's when we had the better team, we struggled to win down there, and dropped a few also. Schmidt has this team ready each week though, and as AJS said.....Defense travels.

I think we all know it, but this game should tell us a lot about who we are.  I can imagine 3 or 4 very plausible scenarios for this one:

1) Comfortable win (10-20%)

2) Narrow win (25-40%)

3) Narrow loss (15-25%)

4) Blowout by either team (5-10%)

Supposedly the new turf installed in 2024 is Astroturf "latest technology" in turf. Which is interesting. I have been on it since they changed it, but can't recall it enough to compare to other turf surfaces besides the previous that they had. The Astroturf (AT Puregrass) they had before the renovation was absolutely terrible, felt like a carpet, and any cleats would just slide around on it. The new turf is definitely a upgrade compared to that, but I would still assume UND uses more of the flat turf shoes that are less cleat like.

I watched the replay of Saturday's game. The broadcast showed that the D is 49th in the country in the RED ZONE.

It hasn't mattered much so far, but moving forward it could be an issue.

Part of that may be due to our 2nd string being in the 4th quarter and teams getting late TD'S.
