Popular Post UND-FB-FAN Posted 23 hours ago Popular Post Posted 23 hours ago Happy Monday to all UND football fans! UND (6-2) defeated Indiana State (2-6) handily - as they should - on Saturday, October 25, by a score of 46-17. Now it is on to South Dakota (5-4)! USD lost most recently at home to Illinois State by a score of 21-13 last Saturday (10/25/25). Historically, it has been a challenge for UND to beat USD in Vermillion at the DakotaDome. This will be a challenge but a welcome one at that. “Everything we want is on the other side of hard. November football games are the ones [we’ll] remember.” Who would want it any other way? Everyone travel down to Vermillion if you can- not that terribly far of a trip. There will certainly be some Kelly Green in the stands down there. Kickoff is 1 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025. This is the official site for tickets to the game: https://goyotes.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventInfo?ticketCode=GS:ATHLETICS:FB25:F05:&linkID=usd-athletics&dataAccId=178&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_usd-athletics This is a great opportunity to go 3-2 overall on the road, 5-0 in the Valley in conference play, and win our 3rd straight road contest. LETS GO HAWKS! 5 4 Quote
Popular Post Sioux94 Posted 22 hours ago Popular Post Posted 22 hours ago I had this game down as a loss back in August, that has changed. Should be able to win this one. Still tough place to play but Schmidt will have the boys ready. Love how he preaches about overcoming 'hard' or difficult situations. Prior to the start of the season I said one of the biggest changes I thought we would see this year is a complete shift in the mindset and mental toughness of the team. That has definitely played out. Although our Defense is just flat out better than last year, and QB play is so much better too. 4 2 Quote
forksandspoons Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Tough place to play and the Yotes are going to be desperate. I think they've got similar turf to UNI. Goofy things can happen in the Dakota Dome. Also, I won't be shocked if they open their playbook up quite a bit. Get the win!! Quote
Und Princess Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I'm super excited!!! I can't wait!!!! My pregame, Prediction and Player Feature on Hudson Flom will be up Saturday!!! 1 3 Quote
Dustin Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I'll say 27-17 UND. Don't think our offense will be quite as potent in unfriendly confines, and our defense seems to be holding steady in that teens range, which is on par for USD's offense against most teams, save for really porous defenses (Murray, Drake). Oxbow6 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago UND could win 3-2 for all I care. Just can't take a L going into 11/8. 3 Quote

Anything less than backups in the third and fourth is unacceptable. The Fargo boys throttled them Hawks should be able to out do them. 1 Quote
forksandspoons Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago The Yotes' defense is still fairly stout. If you take away their Week 1 game vs Iowa State, their defense is near the top of the MVFC in nearly every category. A decent defense + being at home can keep you in most games. I think UND should win, but not going to be surprised if it is a dog fight. 4 Quote
AJS Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago You are what you are by this point. Highlighting USD's last 3 games. 19-14 W at Indiana State, 17-14 W at UNI, 13-21 L vs Illinois State. Limited offensively, but pretty solid defensively. UND hasn't been perfect, but they've also been incredibly solid in every game. I like the Hawks by 17 in this one. Defense travels. I've been so impressed with the consistency. 1 3 Quote

Not overly concerned about their offense but Bouman is there and is solid plus Phillips has been a workhorse since Pierre went down. 2 Quote

They have a good defense, plus a good QB and top-notch RB putting up big numbers, not to mention home field advantage. 28-24 UND Quote
nodakvindy Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Don't overthink it. This isn't even close to last year's Coyote team. Their wins are against Drake, UNC in OT and the bottom three MVC schools (who are winless in the league and 4-20) overall. You can't look past any opponent, but this is a team that UND should defeat handily if they are who we think they are. UND 41-17 4 Quote

The Sicatoka Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Trap (look ahead) game. Only pretenders fall for traps. So are you a contender. 1 3 Quote
Hawkster Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I too had this one figured as a loss earlier. Now my only fear is a second half breakdown. I'm going with 34-27 Hawks. Quote

UND 41-17 Agree, although I recall even back in the 90's when we had the better team, we struggled to win down there, and dropped a few also. Schmidt has this team ready each week though, and as AJS said.....Defense travels. 2 Quote

I can imagine 3 or 4 very plausible scenarios for this one: 1) Comfortable win (10-20%) 2) Narrow win (25-40%) 3) Narrow loss (15-25%) 4) Blowout by either team (5-10%) Quote

Supposedly the new turf installed in 2024 is Astroturf "latest technology" in turf. Which is interesting. I have been on it since they changed it, but can't recall it enough to compare to other turf surfaces besides the previous that they had. The Astroturf (AT Puregrass) they had before the renovation was absolutely terrible, felt like a carpet, and any cleats would just slide around on it. The new turf is definitely a upgrade compared to that, but I would still assume UND uses more of the flat turf shoes that are less cleat like. Quote

shep Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I watched the replay of Saturday's game. The broadcast showed that the D is 49th in the country in the RED ZONE. It hasn't mattered much so far, but moving forward it could be an issue. Quote
