Oxbow6 Posted Sunday at 05:39 PM Posted Sunday at 05:39 PM Z needs most of the rushing attempts. Seidl struggles off tackle but can break it at any point. Leigh is the best pass catcher of the 3. Really not that complicated in situational FB on who should be in. 3 Quote

No Did I expect we’d at least get the most out of the roster that he inherited and finally get rid of the numerous pee wee football level coaching mistakes? Yes Unfortunately it’s pretty clear the same loser culture is still lingering if not fully alive within the UND football program. I’ll continue to watch and follow as this season goes on but man did I lose confidence in this turnaround seeing the same old short falls we’re all too familiar with. And scary enough, I think what we saw yesterday was just as bad if not worse than the entire bubba era, with Rudy OC in a close 2nd. Bone head player mistakes are one thing but not recognizing the kicker issue last spring, not having even an ounce of 2 min drill abilities in 2/3 games already and the offense play calling is absurdly poor and embarrassing. That’s on the coaches. They’re showing so far they’re just trying not to lose still, and it’s backfiring as usual. I wasn’t a fan of hiring another UND associate to be head coach. Mentioned that last year before and after his hire. But I have to give him the benefit of the doubt and roll with it. It’s an upgrade from bubba but how much ? 3 games in and two losses are directly on him. Not a great start After the K st game, even with the bad 4th qtr coaching calls, it seemed as tho things had changed. Felt different. Doesn’t feel that way anymore. Feels like every year since 09. If UND was definitely the better team yesterday why didn’t they win ? Coaching! The two losses fall solely on the coaching staff. Und WAS the better team in both losses. But they keep losing in a multiple head scratching ways on the road. unfortunately… it feels like the losing culture is in place . Im very frustrated yet excited. Love football and love und. I just want to see a competent coaching staff execute a complete game . Without a doubt und should be 3-0. 2 Quote

Yes, but you also want to be close to the line in order to speed up the timing of your route. It’s up to the receiver to ask the ref and verify though. No point in guessing, they’ll tell you yes or no. 2 Quote

Sioux94 Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM I was only able to follow the game through the thread on here, wasn't able to watch h or listen to it. Definitely frustrating as we shoulda had this one. Understand the....nothings changed sentiment, but we are a lot better than last year. Herder put us at #8 on his ballot this week for a reason, we looked like the better team. D is definitely better, tackles well. So nice having speed at WR! And a QB with an arm and who can run. So frustrating that we could be 3-0, but lots of season left. Biggest disappointment is our inability to pound the rock. We have speed at WR, strong arm QB and who can run, but we are completely bottled up...up the middle and I have zero confidence in us picking up 2 yards on the ground when we need it running up the middle. 3 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted yesterday at 12:15 PM Posted yesterday at 12:15 PM This week's homework: - kicking game - mindset ... you could've come close to hangin' 50 on the Griz .... so why didn't ya? Everybody else is PSU from here out. That's the mindset. 2 Quote

Because the line isn’t very good. But since everyone kept saying over and over they were good it must be true. It’s obvious no one ever watched a game last year. You have the laziest center in college football and 2-3 complete blown blocks every play. There was no communication last game especially on the delayed rush man. Don’t worry Valap this week and Murray State this year will make everyone feel good. 1 Quote
airmail Posted yesterday at 01:58 PM Posted yesterday at 01:58 PM Our O line is among the best - yet we can't pick up 3 yards when we need it. We finally have a QB - yet we were below 50% completion with some game changing wide open opportunities. Kicker gives us no confidence. A miss and a doink PAT? Please. In-game coaching decisions have been odd to say the least. Perhaps we go for it because we have no faith in our kicking? Go back to the top of the list and repeat. I bought into and also hyped up the excitement to start the season, and don't give me bandwagon BS because I've been doing UND football for 30 years and will continue to do it. But I'm pretty pissed that everything has changed but nothing has changed. It seems we find ourselves in a very similar spot that we were a year ago (although we had more wins at this point - including Montana). Hopefully the next week cupcake allows the team to figure their $hit out before we get to the grind. I knew this game would paint a good picture of who we are as a team. We're good. We can't finish. We have talent. We make stupid mistakes. We can still be a contender if we get our collecting poop in a group. What are they prepared to do? We'll see.... 3 Quote

Results on the field are extremely disappointing but the all important "eye test" has been mostly passed. Unfortunately the next 6 are almost "must wins" leading up to NDSU. Valpo, UNI, Youngstown, S. Illinois, Indiana St., USD. 3 of these teams are ranked and 2 others are noted as "receiving votes", so not an easy task. Valpo is a crappy football program, not sure where this conference belongs, but it's not FCS. 1 6 Quote

I’ll take “we’re good” and “we have talent” any day of the week compared to 5-7 last season…. We now need to develop a killer mindset and consistently finish. We’ll get there. Enjoy the ride on the way to a championship- all the lessons are worth it in the end. Let’s Go Hawks 2 3 Quote

Controlling the clock for 37:51 to barely hang vrs Iowa St. (21-3 loss) is much different than trading punches with K State to have a W slip though our fingers. But yes, yet again, early in the season I threw out a "must win", that part is the same. 2 Quote

If anyone is close, he is down. Yeah, if our o-line gets him a nice hole, he does okay and has speed. Z is 40 pounds heavier and they both ran top speed of 20.7. That’s a no brainer to me. If you are satisfied with “just fine” than that says enough for me to take you seriously. This is a strange exaggeration. Seidl is explosive and breaks tackles oddly well for his size. I’ve seen him run through guys multiple times. Seidl and Z should split 80% of the RB touches IMO. They can each break a game open. 2 6 Quote
