I can’t imagine he isn’t at least being considered. Obviously has had success early as a head coach maybe more important, was the recruiter under Motzko at both SCSU and the U and brought him some incredible players.

A dark horse might be Garrett Raboin at Augustana down in Sioux Falls. He’s young but what he’s down his first 2 years there to start that program is very impressive. He was an assistant for 4 years at Minnesota

No doubt

George “the dasher dancer” Gwozdecky! :D

I think a missed opportunity was not going after Gwoz hard after CC let Owens go. That ship has sailed though. Gwoz is happy making $250k a year and being home on time for dinner every night coaching at Valor Christian High in Denver.

Don't understand the desire to not hire a UND alum.  I'm OK if they don't.  But for me tie goes to the guy who bleeds green.

As for guys who have proven something, Enrico Blasi.

Not Blasi!! No way, no how.

So what’s the deal with Todd Knott? Offered the Mankato job and didn’t take it. Does he not want to be a HC, just good with his role? Would be a great candidate it seems.

Or another assistant in Wisconsin in Nick Oliver? Was USHL coach of the year in Fargo.

The dog caught the car. Now we have to place faith in an Athletic Director that we aren't fond of to find the right replacement.

Personally I'm torn on alum or not; best man regardless is a good approach, but GF isn't for everyone (and wasn't for me).  Don't want to be a stepping stone, but don't want to be incestuous either.

Might as well bring in Josh Morton as AD as well.

Odds of new HC being named within a week?

With the portal opening in < than 7 days, it would be crucial to have a new HC by then. If not, Jackson would be in charge of that, & I don't think many high-end transfers would commit to an interim coach.

Any old timers confirm that Gino wasn't fired, he "retired"?

Pretty certain he retired to become commissioner of the USHL.

Never mind.  He was dismissed by Wanless.  Googled it

I’ll be happy to eat a mountain of crow if I’m wrong on this, but I don’t see Raboin coming here right now. He’s building a program and creating a legacy that he’s already started to leave his mark on. He has a new building and enough money to do some damage (yeah yeah I know it’s not the money we have). I’d love it if we got him and I’d love to be wrong. I  just don’t think it’s going to happen.

Like I said, the Sunday release to me signals something is afoot.

I’m okay with it being a stepping stone hire if it means we win a natty or two during that stint

We need to be cocky. If we want him, we can have him. We are a blue blood. If we can’t pry a coach away from Augie…. Woof. I mean I get what you’re saying but need the attitude that we can pick who we want.

At find it so hard to believe if offered he would turn it down to stay at Augie. No chance.
