Did college hockey go to the NHL rule where your foot doesn’t have to be on the ice, because it would have been hard to determine if OMac’s back skate was actually on the ice. Quote

I was nervous about an off-side challenge and very surprised there was never a review. 5 Quote

Agreed, was definitely expecting a challenge especially since he took his timeout anyway- so why not challenge instead? Maybe they were rattled and just missed it? And yes, new (2022?) ruling allows the skate to be lifted as long as it’s not over the plane. Offsides: A player shall be considered onside if the skate is over the blue line when the puck enters the attacking zone, which is the rule used in the National Hockey League. Previously, the skate was required to be in contact with the blue line. 1 Quote

In real time, with OMac flying, it definitely wouldn’t have surprised me if he was off (image above was the first I’ve seen that he clearly wasn’t). Add in things generally not going UNDs way this year, improbability of a two game sweep on the road, and UND finding more ways to lose close games vs win this season…just had a general sense of “I’ll believe it when I see it”. No matter how this season ends, at least we’re seeing some passion and grit out of this team that felt like it was lacking. Loved seeing them fired up. Side rant, I really dislike the modern replay era of not being able to get excited until well after the play is over. If it’s too close for the linesman to tell, just let it go. This game’s being decided over an inch or two on the blue line stuff gets old. At least it’s not football though - enter flag after every big play. 2 Quote

The Sicatoka Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Live I was worried; replay I saw a great drag by 22. Quote
siouxfaninseattle Posted March 17 Posted March 17 That's a good angle of the play. It looked a whole lot closer live. Quote

Look at 22 skate. https://x.com/UNDmhockey/status/1901105061389820254 So much this, I don't think I've seen 22 go to the net like that all season. It sounds like Karl was yelling at Jubenvil to stay back on D too but thankfully he didn't hear him. This team needs to play balls out with nothing to lose at this point, just like on this play. Imagine being a 1 seed in the tourney and getting to play North Dakota in Fargo as your reward. A girl can dream... 7 Quote

Popular Post brianvf Posted March 20 Popular Post Posted March 20 Congrats to Sacha! Definitely deserved it. Now...1 (or 2) more years! Also...TH won NCHC Media Excellence Award. Also deserved. Poor Ciskie was in the running as well, he didn't stand a chance. 1 4 Quote
ChrisUND1 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Sacha’s new team can add the award to his writeup when he transfers in. Quote
