Still trying to figure out how he stayed onside.

Did Omaha not have their timeout left?  I am surprised it wasn’t challenged.  Did college hockey go to the NHL rule where your foot doesn’t have to be on the ice, because it would have been hard to determine if OMac’s back skate was actually on the ice.

I was nervous about an off-side challenge and very surprised there was never a review.

Agreed, was definitely expecting a challenge especially since he took his timeout anyway- so why not challenge instead? Maybe they were rattled and just missed it?

And yes, new (2022?) ruling allows the skate to be lifted as long as it’s not over the plane.

  • Offsides: A player shall be considered onside if the skate is over the blue line when the puck enters the attacking zone, which is the rule used in the National Hockey League. Previously, the skate was required to be in contact with the blue line.

Thanks, which is probably the reason they didn’t challenge.

Way too many things need to happen including UND winning two this weekend but with AQ's there could be a scenario where UND ends up the 12 seed.

The Bemidji and Cornell games are loom large.

For sure dragging that back skate

My concern not knowing if the NHL rule was in effect, was he dragged then picked it up and moved again so fast that you couldn’t tell where the puck was at any given time. Regardless, you couldn’t overturn something you called a goal with any hovering perceived anyway.

In real time, with OMac flying, it definitely wouldn’t have surprised me if he was off (image above was the first  I’ve seen that he clearly wasn’t). Add in things generally not going UNDs way this year, improbability of a two game sweep on the road, and UND finding more ways to lose close games vs win this season…just had a general sense of “I’ll believe it when I see it”. No matter how this season ends, at least we’re seeing some passion and grit out of this team that felt like it was lacking. Loved seeing them fired up.

Side rant, I really dislike the modern replay era of not being able to get excited until well after the play is over. If it’s too close for the linesman to tell, just let it go. This game’s being decided over an inch or two on the blue line stuff gets old. At least it’s not football though - enter flag after every big play.

I don't think they showed this angle on television.

Not that I saw.  If I had seen that on TV, I would not have been nervous.

I rewound it and slowed it down and in today's game that isn't really even very close. I would guess UNO's video guys saw this pretty quickly as well.

Anyone know the opening & closing dates for the portal this year?

Opens March 30th and is open for 45 days.
Unless there is a coaching change or scholarship money is changed.

Thanks, was wondering when the new goalie would be arriving.
