Seems he just expected more of himself and the team.  Thus, no elaborate celebration.

Well, I don't think he was that far off. UND played well in that game, by in large, and a couple of bad bounces did lead to goals, two that Luddy would want back. 

Plus, what do you want Bubs to say? I'll never understand why anyone wants a coach to rip his players publicly. It accomplishes nothing. The team knows they shouldn't have needed OT for the win.

Suggesting Miami worked harder than us tonight.  Blocked Shots:  MIA 28  UND 8.   Face offs: MIA 33 UND 24. 

For once, the plus minus (attached box score) give hints as to who was effective tonight.   I wouldn't be surprised if there's some line juggling Saturday. 

The long breaks in the 3rd period helped Miami's short bench keep some legs later on.

Strinden IMO is totally being mismanaged. He is one that never takes a shift off. High end motor and effort. Knows his role at center or wing. He just makes good things happen. How he continues to be buried on the line chart is interesting. I'm a big fan of the eyeball test in game situations cause generally what you see repeatedly is what you're going to get repeatedly.

It would be interesting to see a time on ice for each player.  I noticed Strinden alot, is it because he is out there alot, or are his on ice iterations very noticeable.   He is one of my favorite players.

Now, Berry is the ultimate players coach. Why the interviews after the game, if he’s just gonna sugar coat everything? It just looks bad. Really no excuse for the turnovers and poor back checking. What tale is that, exactly?   I read it as a focused, talented player who feels he and his team ought to have played better.   Not the least bit unusual that even the best teams have off nights, but it is a little unusual to have the guy scoring an OT game-winner show that kind of refusal to settle for anything but the best.   There isn't a team out there this year, or in UND's storied past, that plays at a top level every weekend.   It's how they react to a sup-par performance that is the important part.

Well I think it was completely on our goalie....should've been yanked after he didn't stop the second shot on the first goal Miami scored. 

I mean he likely wants the 2nd and 3rd back, but the 2nd was a point blank shot 2-1....the 3rd was a blown coverage top of the crease look. 

Completely agree.  Last night was an everyone issue, and I think after the 4th goal against Ludvig made some big time saves to keep us alive.

Team D was atrocious early on. Goalie didn’t save the day. But they locked in when it mattered. It was lt wasn’t bad bounces.

Looking for a big push early from Miami tonight...Steve Cady, their first coach and rink namesake being honored pregame.  Weather the early storm and go to work and win decisively.  At least that's my plan.

I like the quote by Blake in the herald article....I feel it shows some leadership, and shows that he expects more out of himself and his teammates.  No need to over celebrate winning a game in overtime, that should have been closed out halfway through the third...expect a big push, and a big night tonight...just what my gut says

Exactly what I said about Blake. Winners have higher expections than last night’s performance.  Sometimes a win isn’t win.

I think the mood after last night from the group is "we got away with one."

Blake's post game celly was perfect.  The guy has scored some goals in his day and is normally one to puff his chest a bit.

I hope the team defense is better this evening.  Neutral zone was soft and we took a step back from the Denver performance in our end.

Let's win 5-1 tonight.  Control the game, play fast and in their end.

Yah, we win in the end but during the game it baffled me as to how many good looks we had where we didn’t put the puck on goal.  At least hit the goalie and have a chance at getting a rebound.

Miami was certainly more efficient when shooting the puck.

UND 77 shots, 34 on net, 28 blocked, 15 off the mark.

Miami 43 shots, 31 on net, 8 blocked, 4 off the mark

I agree. Seemed like a lot of shots were targeted just inside the post or trying for bar downs but were off the mark. This team has a lot of snipers but twisted wristers from close range don’t always need that kind of precision to beat a goalie.

Sugarcoating bad defensive play is highly annoying. But that doesn't mean Berry isn't drilling it into them when the cameras and microphones are off.

If he signs, he will never be seen or heard from again. He'll get buried on the depth chart in the AHL and won't get a sniff at the NHL. He is nowhere near ready for the next level.
