UNDMOORHEAD Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Gaber's work along the boards is impressive, especially for a small guy. 1 Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 UND Wins 2-0 not the best game but we get the Win Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 The rust definitely showed but the team still won. Can only get better with more games under belt. Quote
SiouxForever Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Be interesting to see if Miami will be the worst team in the league. They have a decent goalie. Quote
scpa0305 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Sloppy third, oh well first game. Some guys looked good, others I was unimpressed with. On to Friday Quote
SiouxForever Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Jake Sanderson looked quiet. Only 2 more games for him in the pod. He'll only improve and get better. Quote

Agreed. He’ll be much more dominant...these guys are just knocking the rust off. Some of those forwards need to wake up a bit. Quote
Oldguy Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I thought our senior class was kinda invisible today, with the exception of Kiersted. Gaber & Pinto seem to have some chemistry. Not a dazzling performance, but understandable for a first game. Need to be much better on Friday. Quote

I thought the Gooch line would be our best, but the Pinto line looked better today. 1 Quote
SiouxScore Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Good to have Sioux hockey back. Really solid defensively for the most part. Not a lot of space for Miami. I thought Gaber would be an impact guy but he really really impressed me. Think he will have a big season. Quote
Langster019 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 There isn't much more you can ask for. More goals? Sure. Other details? They'll come. But it's game 1 after 9 months of no competition, and they won a game they should have. 1-0. Onto the next! Beat DENVER!!! Quote
brianvf Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Denver should be a good test, for sure. We'll see how they look tonight against Duluth...that should be a good game between two teams picked to finish in the top half of the league. Quote

Hawkster Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Back to the matter at hand. I missed the game due to other commitments but it seems, from what I've read we've got a real gem in Gaber. God I love it when a new player comes out smoking on the first game. Things might be different now days but it's still Fighting Hawks hockey. Quote
Sweethockey Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Pinto had the primary assists for both goals and looked great. Gaber is the real deal, he reminds me of Drake Caggiula and Tyson Jost. Very good in shaking a defender off and really good hands. He went into the corner with 2 Miami players and came out with the puck. I think Miami's line against our senior line matched up and nulled them out. My 2 cents Quote
Wilbur Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 Gaber reminded me of a Panzer. Wearing number 17 and making rushes up the wing getting to the net. Dean Blais type pesky forward for sure. Quote

He was absolutely incredible in the first period, but quiet midway through. He made an unreal, backhanded sauce pass from the corner leading up to an odd-man rush right after Gaber's goal. I was very happy with him. Never got out of position and was eager to enter the rush especially in the first. Such a smooth skater. Incredible feet. Quote
