Gwoz would be the best choice imo and he is a charecter guy also a very good person in general.  Time will tell if CC reaches out to him or vice versa.

Loved it when Gwoz was quoted as saying, “They will always be the Fighting Sioux to me” (or something to that effect)

He may not want the pressure of a college job again but it sure would be fun to see him behind the opposing bench again.  In my mind he is one of a handful of really good coaches from our WCHA days.

Yah, and from what I hear, he loves his HS coaching gig and is paid handsomely for it. But to your point, he’d make a fun, interesting addition to the NCHC coaching fold!

I still watch this from time to time. Hearing Pat Sweeney’s voice go up about ten octaves was icing on the cake!

It just was something right out of the WWE with the entire crowd booing him in unison.

There’s so many old UND/DU scrum videos out there on Youtube. Fun stuff. But I digress.

Yeah, I’d imagine they are more of an equivalent to a St Thomas Academy/Hill Murray in the Twin Cities type of school.

Yes. It's a relatively new elite private school. Most noted now for being the alma mater of Christian McCaffrey. They are pretty dominant in just about everything.

St Lawrence is COVID positive. Now Quinnipiac gets the bid.

Sounds like the coach got it.  That's gotta be a tough one for the coach.

Honest question: If it's true that only the head coach tested positive, why couldn't St. Lawrence just play with an assistant coach acting as head coach?

Contact tracing, I'd guess.

I think that's  fair point, he is 67, so he's not getting any younger, also he might not want to deal with all the Politically Correct BS going on campus now, I forget why Denver let him go in the first place but didn't it have something to do with him saying something insensitive?

According to the Denver Post, Gwozdecky was fired due to lack of success at the NCAA tournament and an inability to agree to terms on a contract extension.

MasseyRatings picks for the NCAA first round: https://masseyratings.com/ch/ncaa-d1/games

Massey sees the SCSU/BU game as closest to a coin-flip game.

To me, the most intriguing first-round matchup is Michigan/Duluth. I'd say it's a matchup of youth versus experience, but UMD has lost some key veteran pieces from their championship teams.

Sure hope UAH gets in.  The have a rich history. (Mostly at D2).  Not good for D1 Hockey if team need to fold.  They would fit in nicely in Atlantic Hockey

I bet they try to get 14 then split with interlocking schedules but 2 autobids.
