No decision has been made.
Guessing some guys won't have their application in until late and want to understand where they might possibly rank before having the chance of their name being put out in public as a finalist.

Wonder if there's a possibility of UND ending up with more than one names that's been mentioned with a second person filling a possible coordinator position, depending on who gets the head job and where they need to fill in the staff.

The Schmidt years of D are coming back to me.  Without some key injuries, Reyes and the other transfer safety, Zach Arnell, that was shaping up to be a really good D!!  The NDSU cheap shot on Arnell was bad, hard to forget that.

Not sure why Sam Knuth decommitting has us thinking Caruso to UND. Knuth seems like an okay QB prospect. Most of his offers were of the pioneer type, I believe.

If I recall correctly, UND and Schmidt’s defense stopped the run pretty well from 2014-2016 but it got worse 2017-2019. UND was always fairly porous against the pass, particularly on 3rd down.

The last two years was a million times worse! 
 

2019 I felt it was his best coaching just because of the injuries we had on the defensive front and we still made the playoffs. That year I believe we beat Sam Houston at home….. then they went on to win the Covid Title the following year.

2017, Reyes out 4th game of year.  All-American level free safety.  That hurt.

I really like Schmidt based on his mix of understanding the Midwest and UND and the experience he’s gained at higher levels since he was here. 
 

any idea on when we’ll know!

my choice would be Caruso, keeping fruechte as OC.  rebooting defensively.

Guarantee Caruso has more in with MSP coaches then any FCS program.  He Wins.  

Absolute reboot on QB position as well and I can continue to be Undefeated Tailgating again next year!!

I took Kelly’s comment as it’s possible to do that, but that’s not how UND is going about it.

The way I look at it, as long as a decision is made by Sunday, then the timing is fine. You need the new coach to meet and have a discussion with the team before the portal opens. No later.
