Looking at that bracket, some impressions:

UNI (I can't believe I'm going to say this) got robbed. They're better than Central Arkansas (by far per Massey) and should've been the 8 seed.

You can see the "500 mile" games (SEMO/ISU; SUNYA/CCon; AP/Fur; Wof/KenSU; Mon/HC) that they had to make by rule.

That said --> Grand Forks to Cedar Falls: 527 miles --> no UND at UNI.

When they had six teams left after doing "500 mile" games they had UND, UNI, 'nova, Nicholls, San Diego, SE LA, and they couldn't put SE LA and Nicholls together because they played last week. UNI got the weakest of the six (San Diego, per Massey), UND and 'nova travel (I'm guessing due to massive bids by Southland teams looking for relevance).

I like our matchup.  Would have really been something to have these guys at home, but I think the Weber St. game proves that we are capable of beating a playoff team on the road.  Weather should NOT be a factor in the game.  (Gametime temperature in the 70s).  I expect a win.

I am fairly certain the head of the selection committee yesterday said 400 miles is the limit between driving and flying.  Ticky Tacky I know, but probably doesn't matter much either way.

That (400, not 500) just affirms my observations.

Can someone toss together a map of where the 24 schools are? I think it'll drive the point home.

UNI????  Just....How???  Seriously!!  Wins against 0-3 Illinois St, and 0-4 Youngstown. #QualityLoses

The problem with figuring out the placement of UNI is the fact that they lost to the  number 5 and 6 teams by the slimmest of margins in the last minute.  I know, I know, quality losses, but those are two very good teams that they are comparable to.  I don't believe them to be a top 10 team at the moment, but I have them in my top 15 - mainly looking at who is/isn't playing in the Spring, and the fact that some of those teams have only played 1 or 2 games.  After the top 10 it's a pretty big crapshoot.....

I bag on them as much as the next person, especially because they literally are the kings of the quality losses, but so far this year they have a 4 point loss to the #6 team (who scored the go ahead TD with 19 seconds left) and a 1 point loss on the road to the #5 team (where their all-conference kicker shanked a 30 yard field goal with a few seconds left).  They are likely going to be 5-2 headed into the season finale against NDSU, who hopefully is sitting on at least 2 losses as well to create what would effectively be a play-in game.

That .....and when we were fighting to get in the poll, worrying about where UNI was ranked was ok.....now when we're  in the top two who gives a !@#$ if they're ranked 10th.
