This is inexplicable:

11. Villanova
(1-0, 0-0 CAA)
Previous Ranking: 16
Week 1 Result: 47-3 win at Lehigh
Next Game: Sept. 11 vs. Bucknell

12. UC Davis (Co-Team of the Week)
(1-0, 0-0 Big Sky)
Previous Ranking: 17
Week 1 Result: 19-17 win at Tulsa

but they blew them out............

Yeah but everyone ranked that high should blow them out.  Does it justify a 5 place jump? Pounding a bad team justifies them staying one spot in front of UC Davis who played well against and beat an AAC team?  I don't think so (imo).  Not that I really care that much anyway.

Felt the same, dropped 3 spots.

Montana dropped 2 and they had a quality loss on the road.  I'm glad SIU didn't lose this last week, if we beat USD and then beat SIU that SIU will be a good win. If we run the table and then lose to SDSU I think we will be in top 8 unless we get completely destroyed by SDSU, which could happen if we are off that day......they will want payback from last year.

It wasn't long ago we started seasons not ranked or ranked in the 20's and had to work our way up.  Take care of business the next two weeks.

We shouldn't be in the poll at all.

Would UND beating the #4 Salukis in Carbondale this Saturday change your mind?

We have a losing record and this should be a disqualifier in the polls.  If we can manage our way back to .500 with a W vrs the Salukis then back in.  If you want a chance at a good weekend scratch off tickets are an option, too.

There are teams with losing records in the polls every week. Some teams move up after a loss. They mean nothing and are not based on logic.

UNI with the loss at NDSU by 14, remained at #16, should have moved up.

Without counting the FBS loss we don't.
Many pollsters must somewhat believe we can still make the playoffs?
24 teams make the playoffs.
