Reminds me of the attendance of a women's hockey program that just got cut. More people crying out to save it but not willing to show up in the seats, pathetic. So what you're saying is they drew double the Big Ten (men's) final four average.

The Sicatoka
Quote The final routines drew standing ovations from the crowd of 15,558 fans, who set a record in their own right. The Utes averaged 15,244 fans this year, a new Utah and NCAA record for attendance for a women's sport. ZOINKS!

I'll say gymnastics could make money.

Blackheart
You need to total the posts of the previous 11 topics in the Women's Hockey thread to exceed the 1500+ posts in the "Cutting Women's Hockey" thread. That should give you a little idea of this sports popularity or lack thereof on the UND campus. Not trying to spew hate, just pointing out the math.

tnt
At least it was an opinion piece so that's his opinion, no matter how illogical it seems. It really bothers me when it is supposed to be a straight news story and only one half of the argument is put forward, which is becoming more and more common these days.

"In fact, ever since Jocelyne and her twin sister Monique Lamoureux came to UND in 2010, UND has established itself as one of the premier women’s hockey programs" Premier = 0 National titles, 0 Conference titles, 2 NCAA playoff appearances, 0 NCAA playoff wins, and finishing 8th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 4th in the WCHA since the Lammy's arrived on campus. I guess "Premier" is a relative term!!
