Goodness.  Just another reason to think Culhane is a dingus. That's insane to the Nth degree.

Right, that's all said to stir the pot. Bison are still playing better FB, we all understand that part. The thing Culhane forgot to mention is the wall on the north side of NDSU did fall down today.

We can't move any sooner than 2020.  Conference schedules are set until then.  The Big Sky and the MVFC aren't going to start over from scratch to exclude/include UND to figure out their schedules for 2018 and 2019.  Its only for 2 years.  It is a temporary inconvenince that will be well worth it after we are in the MVFC.

Today is a great day for UND athletics!!

When there are 10 teams, you'll have 7-10,8-9 playin games like the Valley and Horizon do.  They won't leave 2 teams completely out.

Is that for certain? Big Sky used to have a set number of teams then changed it to include everyone.

Most likely everyone will be included in the playoffs somehow. They'll figure that out when time comes, who know there may be more membership changes before then? Getting to like this move more as the day goes on!

If anyone can find a link to watch video from the press conference, much appreciated.

It's only available in VCR/VHS format right now.

...........that would be better quality than that "stream" today.

I propose this.......since the Dakota schools are basically putting the NCC back together can UND at least go back to being called the "Fighting Sioux"?

Is that really too much to ask?

With our new President in DC and his Bringing America Back, it think the timing is perfect!

So when 2020 comes around and we play NDSU every year do we get a new trophy to play for or brush the dust off of the nickel? I know it's got an Indian side of it but it is a "historical" coin.

  1. MV's Patty Viverito says UND's entry "came down to four enthusiastic supporters" and the rest of the league said that was fine with them.

Viverito said the only downside is the 8-game schedule, but said presidents told her that shouldn't be a deal-breaker with UND.

Could the 4 be the Dakota 3 and UNI?

The vote to invite UND to join mvfc was unanimous.  Weird, all the mvfc bros on the message boards said we weren't good enough for them.  Thought they had pull.

From Kolpack's article:

Adding UND marks a change of heart in expansion for the Missouri Valley since its Presidents Council met last summer, where Viverito said the league was content with its makeup. It appears the Summit League-member schools of the Valley—NDSU, South Dakota State, South Dakota and Western Illinois—played a role in the addition of the Fighting Hawks.

"We have four members ... who were anxious to get North Dakota in the Summit as a 10th member," she said. "For good reason they asked us to reconsider because it's good for the all-sports side of the equation as opposed to just football."
