UC Irvine RPI is 75 UND 218,   3rd best team RPI  wise UND played....Wisc 43, UNI 70...Summitt 8-8 team NDSU 125...BSC blue blood power houses Weber 108 and MT 144.

So... extend Jones (with a raise) and get a bid to another conference and our RPI goes up?

Just to shed some light on the NDSU situation I talked to a neighbor who's an NDSU booster and he said the decision had more to do with the SHAC not being done yet and having to deal with hosting games at Scheels arena. They were probably going to lose money on a CIT or CBI game so didn't make sense. Also have some injuries from what I hear.

I think most programs would want to keep playing as long as possible. Can't hurt IMO.

Weber with the 15 seed against Xavier. That'll be ugly for the BSC champs. BSC is going to have to get better scheduling and wins if they are going to get higher seeds. Also looks like SDSU got a tough draw with Maryland. Don't see an upset happening there.

Good news for SDSU, they got over seeded by a couple spots. Bad news for SDSU, Maryland, got under seeded by at least 1 spot.... and on talent and not record...more like 3 spots.

Good news for SDSU. Maryland probably more than any team in the country is prone to play down to their level of competition. Bad news for SDSU, your best player will have to deal with 3 guys in Stone, Carter, and Dodd who are all more talented and a 7 footer.

Soccer team in Italy and softball team in Hawaii - yeah money is a problem.   If I was you I'd worry about your own budget.  There is a reason you guys have the lowest coaching salaries in the area.

Don't talk to me, talk to your buddy Kab and your poseur "North Dakota". They're confirming dollars, or lack there of, went into NDSU's decision to quit playing. Maybe you should've asked your student senate if they wanted another game and would cover the shorta ... Nevermind ...

I imagine we are big underdogs.    I suppose this will be a no win situation for Jones  with posters unless we pull of the upset.

Wouldn't actually winning the game be the only way Jones could win the situation??

This is a good opportunity for the team to prepare for success next year. With just one senior, the more time these guys can spend playing together the better. They have all spring and summer to practice. Use this as a way to gel more and possibly bring home some hardware.

How is SDSU seeded a couple spots too high? They have 3 top 100 wins, Ken Pom 80, BPI 80 and RPI 28. The lowest they were looking at was 13. The closest 14 to us is Fresno who have a 105 Ken Pom, 106 BPI, 66 RPI. The Summit was a top 15 conference and it is SDSU's 3rd trip in 5 years.

Maryland will be a tough draw. Though they did lose to Minnesota who we dominated. They are up and down and do not play up to their ability. It will depend on if the SDSU guards can hit the 3s and which MD team decides to come play. But seeded to high? No.

Tickets on sale for UND's home CIT matchup

Tickets seem relatively cheap, but I don't expect a large crowd due to spring break.

Only 26 teams have signed for the CIT, so that seems to portend later byes to get to 8 teams.

The Las Vegas 16 has been trimmed to 8 because of lack of teams.

SDSU needed the home court and bad reffing calls to pull out victories against ORU and Denver and arguably NDSU.  Daum was a gift to that program that doesn't have much else.

With their luck, they will pull out a win over Maryland too, but this time they won't have Slummit refs on their team.

Not really much different then bowl games requiring ticket buys from participating schools.  It is what is.

$30000 should be doable in revenue with a little marketing or a sponsor.

Looks like most tickets are priced from $7.50-$12.50. Would probably need to come close to a sellout to make it on ticket revenue alone, and that doesn't consider other expenses.

Great week for UND sports.    Home playoff games for men's and women's basketball.    New #1 team in college hockey UND,  playing in the Frozen Faceoff in Minneapolis on national television   on  CBS Sports channel.

Oh the butt hurt. Third time in 5 years, had NDSU not upset this team with "no talent" last year (when Daum was red-shirting) it would have been 4 of 5. That's the same team who had so little talent minus Daum that they took down CSU, the #1 seed in the NIT last year, in Ft. Collins. Must have been some good home cooking going on there. Oh, we also have not finished below 2nd in the regular season conference race for the past 5 years. But in your mind the wins in the SL tournament are due to a home court and the referees, OK, call LakesBison, you and he can be buddies.

The "Slummit" is the 11th conference in RPI, 15th in Sagarin. The BSC is 28th and if not for Weber and UM they would be 30 or 31. UND is a low 200 RPI BB team, SDSU 28.

Oh, and to top it off our women are making trip 7 in the past 8 season. They also have a 12 seed while starting all underclass women. We are likely a year or two from making the same type of run we made in 2009. The year our Women were ranked 15th in the AP and almost took down Baylor in the second round, in Texas when they had Griener. But hey, I'm sure their success is also due to home cooking and a home court advantage.

To make it all better for you. NDSU has won 5 national titles in a row in FB. Also, NDSU; as a 12 seed (wonder if they passed the "eye" test) took down Oklahoma in the NCAA tournament. It really has to kill you that the two State schools have had any success.

Call when the BSC moves to FBS. All because the NCAA loves Idaho so much they are going to change the rules to help them out. Funny stuff.
