Thanks for the great insight.  But that would rank your team, not a particular recruiting class.

Hey, Thunder Dan knows football.  If he says it, it's true.

It's all related. You need good to great classes to form a great team. If you have a great team, then you certainly have - at the very least - compiled good recruiting classes. Coaching, scheme, and development do come into play in order to close the gap.

Poor 83 - so confused - you can bank on my posts being more true than the wishful (delusional) posting of some here.

Fleck made 134 offers for the MN recruiting class of 2018.  ZERO from the state of Minnesota.  Hard to believe their wasn't 1 kid from Minnesota that he wanted.  Crazy.  Looks like Minnesota is prime for the pickin for some quality recruits!!

The Gopher backers will not be happy with that nor should they. Like siouxperfan stated lots of recruits out there to choose from. If memory serves correctly NDSU thrived in the mid 2000's on cleaning up what Brewster should've grabbed.

Wasn't Fleck adamant about recruiting in state? Seemed like he had been saying that would be extremely important. Maybe not so much though?

Fleck will do just fine in MN ..and will get the recruits he wants....about 14 instate recruits coming to junior day this weekend....He did say that there were about a half dozen players in the state this year worthy of FBS scholies, a down year talent wise...He'll also get the PWO's he wants...ie. Rousemiller this year..Go to GopherIllistrated to read the latest on his decision to be a PWO at MN....been a Gopher fan since a little kid...

MN can't win at their level with strictly in state talent, just like UND can't win at their level with only ND talent...coaches recruit to win....

UM has a junior day camp coming up this weekend. I'd expect a lot of their in-state offers to go out then, in person.

Exactly this.

I do largely agree with this statement.

Aren't we still waiting for a transfer or two??

Most activity will take place after spring ball so don't get too excited, yet.  Look for an O-line and Corner but given the talent on our roster it's going to be hard to find a guy available that is better than what we have, my 2 cents.  Coe last year was an awesome addition, so it is possible.

JoJo Henderson was supposed to be on campus this weekend.  Heard that a while ago so not sure if still happening, but as of a week after NSD he was scheduled to come here March 4th.

They do have a commitment from the #1 player in the state although he just moved there from Florida this fall/winter Benjamin Sapp III from Eden Prairie.Their isn't a whole lot of B1G level talent in Minnesota in the class of 2018. There really is only about 4 or so others the Gophers are really looking at Brevyn Spann-Ford-TE-St.Cloud probably closest to a offer all others may have to impress this summer at camp to get one, Trey Lance-QB/ATH-Marshall, David Alston-DE-Woodbury, and Ronnie Audette-OL-Elk River. They did just have a bunch of guys in for 1 of their Junior days but it doesn't sound like any are real close to offers and they want to evaluate them live in camp first. They did invite Spann-Ford back down to visit sometime soon so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a offer then. It could be a very good year for the FCS schools in Minnesota though because from talking with some people it seems like there are a number of guys that are very talented but just not quite at that B1G level.
