burd Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 5:30 faceoff at the Ralph then onto a home and home with BSU to start the regular season... 6-1 Parks, Nschmaltz, Johnson, Ladue, pagonski, mac That's the score I was thinking when I opened this thread. Caggiula gets at least one, as does Parks. Nice to have the season finally here. Btw, when's the last time we had 6 players on the team from either Nodak or EGF? Lot of local talent. Quote
stoneySIOUX Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Cags x2, Johnson, Parks, JSchmaltz, NSchmaltz, Pattyn, OD .... 8-2 Quote
hrkac Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 6-2 J Schmaltz, Johnson, Cagguila, OD, Mark Mac, Parks N Schmaltz with 3 assists Quote
geaux_sioux Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I bet this new McIntyre kid gets a shutout in his first start. 1 Quote
SiouxForever Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I just want to see some chemistry... about 6 goals from the good guys, some decent plays, don't expect too much, it is early. And finally, no injuries and would love to see the other goaltenders get a period or about 10 mins each. Quote
Lgbnaf Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Am I the only one that has a semi chubby waiting to see what this team does this year? 1 Quote

brianvf Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 But regardless of the outcome, let's not get too high or too low. That's impossible...you're talking about SiouxSports.com! We should start a poll for when the first Fire Hakstol thread will pop up. 2 Quote

runaroundsioux Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Finally, we can start talking about actual hockey and firing Hakstol instead of the stupid new nickname. Quote
siouxforce19 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 UND forward lines: O'Donnell-MacMillan-Parks | Pattyn-Gaarder-Murphy | Caggiula-Johnson-Schmaltz | Chzyk-Sanderson-Poganski UND defense pairings: LaDue-Schmaltz | Mattson-Stecher | Ausmus-Poolman | Thompson-Panzarella | Goalies: McIntyre-Johnson-Hrynkiw St Clair is the extra forward. Quote
SiouxScore Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 A little surprised to not see Olson or Simonson in there and to see Sanderson in but I kinda wonder if part of the reason Olson isn't in is a little punishment for the drinking citation. Also an interesting defensive pairing of Thompson and Panzarella together. Quote

Initial thoughts: MacMillan line is what everyone expected, as is the Johnson line. I'm guessing that Johnson and N. Schmaltz will both take shifts at center on that line. Remember, Johnson started out at center last year. Murphy on the third line. Hopefully he had a big summer. Most people have written him off, but if he comes in motivated and driven, he could easily develop into an impact player down the road. Surprised to not see Simonson or Olson in the lineup, and St. Clair as the extra forward instead of Sanderson. Surprised that Thompson is not in the Top-6. Getting in the lineup this year, as a defenseman, is going to be a battle each and every week. LaDue-Schmaltz, if they stay together, could be the best pairing in the country. Both All-American caliber players. I really doubt they stay together. No reason to comment on the goaltenders, only question is which goalie is going to play the handful of games this year that Zane doesn't? Quote
runaroundsioux Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 So is it Captain General Pattyn, or General Captain Pattyn, or did he take a straight demotion to just Captain? Quote
choyt3 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 We need to remember that some of these guys the coaches already know what they are getting from them (St. Clair) and others are trying to play their way into the lineup. I wouldn't read anything into line combos at this point after one practice. Quote

Also, the olson sit has to be because of the drinking incident. Looks like Hak is seeing if Murphy has improved, I have nothing against that. Quote

SiouxScore Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Is this game not televised? It is on Midco but will not be televised on FCS as they are still working on a deal. Quote
