SOL
Does anyone know when the Western Regional tickets will go on sale? And is there a specific "way" that they will go on sale; who will get first "dibs" on them? Any info is greatly appreciated.

UND will get an allotment and they will be distributed based request sorted by Priority Points. No clue how many it will be, but the place only holds 5,000 and tickets are held back for the other 3 schools as well. There will be a fair amount of tickets that go on sale to the general public this fall but I haven't seen an exact date. Going to be a tough ticket to get. darell1976
Everyone knows it should be at the REA. Scheels is a joke compared to it. NCAA is missing out on a lot of $$$.

UNDBIZ
Does anyone if the REA put in a bid for the regional? They put in bids for the REA and Scheels. Scheels was awarded the bid because it's a non-campus site.

Funny how Notre Dame was awarded a regional at their on campus arena this year!!
UNDBIZ
Funny how Notre Dame was awarded a regional at their on campus arena this year!! According to the nc$$, they were the only midwest regional applicant.
Snake
If I recall correctly, UND and Notre Dame were the only schools to apply to host this year's western regionals. Since UND applied with BOTH their home venue and a neutral site, the NCAA chose the neutral site. Notre Dame likely got lucky that there were no other applicants, as they were awarded the other regional at their home venue. Now, obviously UND could've done the same thing as Notre Dame and applied only with the Ralph, but if there had been more applicants they would've run the risk of not getting selected.

Actually, UMD applied as well. But obviously Amsoil isn't a neutral site either so Fargo won.

Handsome Rob
I thought REA was considered off campus by like a foot. Good point, isn't that how they are able to sell booze at the games, because it is not on campus?
82SiouxGuy
Good point, isn't that how they are able to sell booze at the games, because it is not on campus? The entire Bronson property, including the land where the REA sits, is owned by UND. It is all part of campus. That is why the new medical school building is being built north of the REA on the corner of Highway 2 and Columbia Road. The State Board of Higher Education gave permission to allow alcohol sales on the property leased for the REA. Alcohol is also allowed in the President's house, Chester Fritz Auditorium, the Gorecki Alumni Center, and I believe the Center for Innovation for special events. There may be other cases. Siouxfull
Has anyone received a call back from the Ralph about regional tickets? Today is the day they were going to start.
nodak651
Thanks for the reminder.. marking my calendar for Oct 28, when average Joe's can attempt to get tickets. I predict the new arena in Sioux Falls will put in a bid, and get it, for the next go around of regionals. It's close to Omaha, UND, Mankato, St. Cloud. jdub27
How many seats in there? 5,000 for hockey. Heard UND got roughly half of those tickets to distribute. Not sure how many will go on sale as the NCAA will hold back some for the teams that make it and whatever else they deem necessary.
