You sure? His hudl page shows highlights listed as senior season, which would tell me that he is coming in next fall.

My mistake - you are correct.  Apparently he had committed to St. Cloud who must have released him from the LOI.  It would be interesting to know how this played out, if we continued to recruit him or if he simply wanted to go to UND.

Per SFI (http://siouxfb.areavoices.com/2016/05/24/roster-recruiting-updates/), UND is actively recruiting 3 positions of need for the 2016 season: corner, offensive line, and receiver. All three spots are areas of depth concern, and after last season, everyone including the staff realizes how important depth is to winning a conference championship.

JUCO WR Sergio Bailey is being recruited by UND (Missouri State and Eastern Michigan have also offered) - http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1521730/sergio-bailey-ii

Offensive lineman Michael Coe is also being recruited by UND. He is a DII graduate. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1678941/michael-coe

Also, UND appears to be actively recruiting an FBS cornerback.

If UND is fortunate enough to acquire 3 talented student-athletes at the aforementioned 3 spots, then UND will be in good shape to contend for the Big Sky Conference championship in 2016! Go UND!

I'm hoping that in Bailey's case (assuming he's from Cali) that the incentive of playing a hair closer to home in a conference that plays most of its games west of the Rockies, and many near the West Coast, will play in UND's favor.

Looks like the db fbs transfer could be Nigel bethel, Texas techs best db.   This would be absolutely huge!!!  Playing in the pass happy big 12 and routinely lined up on the opposing teams best wr, this could d be a "game changer" for und.  Outside of cooper from ewu, this guy would have no troubles lining up one on one with anyone.

How did you conclude it is him that UND is talking to?

Kevin Maurice and Travis Stepps are following him on Twitter, for what that's worth.  He has a "loud" twitter presence and is rumored to have been removed from the Texas Tech FB team for academic reasons.  He was previously kicked off the team prior to his freshman season for getting in a fight with a Texas Tech women's basketball player (they took him back after she said she instigated the fight).  Would have 2 years eligibility remaining.  Looks like a high risk, but very talented player.  Doesn't look like he redshirted, so he could go FBS and just sit out a year.

Just wondering out loud, but if it's him and he's TT's best db, I'm wondering why he'd transfer, no. 1, and no. 2, why he'd transfer to an FCS school.

There are several possibilities as to why. As for your second question, You don't have to sit for a year if it's to an FCS school (FBS to FBS transfer without waiver requires one year of ineligibility). Also, going off of Wentz being the No. 2 pick this season in the NFL draft, FCS or FBS doesn't matter if you can play.

Certainly hope this works out.

Looks like a stud, but I don't see this one as a possibility........looking closer to GF.

It would certainly be huge if we could land a good WR, OL, and DB.  If we did that and Grady comes back.....I'll be even more optimistic for the upcoming year.   We'll just have to hope and pray that Studs doesn't get hurt.

Which makes you wonder why a QB isn't on the shopping list.

The odds of getting a quality QB to transfer in when there is a two year starter in place is slim.  Most of those guys transfer to a place where the starting spot can be guaranteed prior to showing up.

The QB depth behind Studsrud is certainly a concern, which is why the development of Brad Heidlebaugh and the recruiting class of 2017 (Edina's Brock Boltmann is heavy favorite; http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3360892/highlights/305358386) are so very crucial to the QB position moving forward.
