Cratter Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 There will be lots of discussion about this. So let's not clog the other threads. If there a visual bracket someone can post?
Oxbow6 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 'SU has a good shot at back to back Natty's even with Jensen's suspect play over the last half of the season. They can pound the rock and stuff it on D.
petey23 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 NDSU's first game will likely be their toughest game until the Title game.
Wilbur Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 NDSU did get a bit of a tough draw schedule wise. You have to beat good teams to win the NC, but hopefully some of those good teams have been knocked out already by other good teams. This will definitely be a test. Looking at.....South Dakota State, then New Hampshire, then Georgia Southern, then Eastern Washington or Montana State.
mg2009 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 i think cal poly is going to get worked, and montana state got a tough draw as well. Nova and stony brook are both very good teams.
Johnny Five Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 SHSU avoided a Round 1 upset last year, hopefully Cal Poly can take them out. Eastern Illinois vs SDSU should be a darn good game, I don't see why "most" are giving it to SDSU so easily.
UNDColorado Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Also don't forget Montana State barely squeeked by UNH at home last year...anything can happen this time of year.
Johnny Five Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 How about that 2nd round match up? Either Cal Poly or SHSU going to Montana State. That's a doozy.
The Sicatoka Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I'm calling this one "chalk" in the semis: ODU v. NDSU EWU v. MSU
airmail Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Bracket: http://www.ncaa.com/interactive-bracket/football/fcs/2012
jodcon Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Bracket: http://www.ncaa.com/...otball/fcs/2012 Looks like EWU got a decent draw, some on Bisonville were hoping to avoid another game with SDSU so they won't be real happy, never easy to beat a decent team twice.
WeAreNorthDakota Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I'm rooting hard for an NDSU/ODU semifinal matchup. Best offense in the FCS against the best defense in the FCS. On the other side of the bracket there are several potentially intriguing matchups but none that I'm specifically rooting for over another.
petey23 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I'll take a crack at the first couple rounds. SDSU 31 E. Illinois 27 Villanova 34 Stony Brook 21 Bethune Cookman 23 Coastal Carolina 20 Wagner 30 Colgate 24 NDSU 27 SDSU 21 Montana State 45 Villanova 28 Old Dominion 52 Bethune Cookman 21 Eastern Washington 54 Wagner 17 New Hampshire 33 Wofford 24 Sam Houston State 38 Cal Poly 30 Georgia Southern 24 Central Arkansas 20 Appalachan State 28 Illinois State 17
Johnny Five Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 SDSU averaged just over 13k at home games this season if I read that correctly. Over 9k this weekend?
UND1983 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 i think cal poly is going to get worked, and montana state got a tough draw as well. Nova and stony brook are both very good teams. But let me guess, you like the draw for the MVFC teams?
UND-FB-FAN Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Second round matchup between SDSU and NDSU should be a tight game; could easily go either way. Of course, that is if SDSU gets there - from what I understand Eastern Illinois is not all that bad.
airmail Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 It'll be interesting to see how the Big Sky teams fare against the other conferences - Right now, I think Montana St. and EWU have a shot, but I guess we'll see soon enough how they stack up. A Bison loss in the first round would also be cool.
geaux_sioux Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 It'll be interesting to see how the Big Sky teams fare against the other conferences - Right now, I think Montana St. and EWU have a shot, but I guess we'll see soon enough how they stack up. A Bison loss in the first round would also be cool. I kind of want to see them lose to a Big Sky team but that would mean winning some games..... I'm torn between which demise would be sweeter for them.
CMSioux Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I think su should "petition" the NCAA about their "hosing". Gonna root for the Big Sky all the way and an early exit for the Thundering Convicts.
mg2009 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 But let me guess, you like the draw for the MVFC teams? i like isu vs app i would have preferred more interesting matchups for ndsu and sdsu, and i'm a bit jealous of ewu's path.
JohnboyND7 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 It'll be interesting to see how the Big Sky teams fare against the other conferences - Right now, I think Montana St. and EWU have a shot, but I guess we'll see soon enough how they stack up. A Bison loss in the first round would also be cool. That'd be pretty anti-climactic, our guys don't play in the first round.
Johnny Five Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 SDSU throttles EIU, setting up a BIson-Jacks rematch. For the record...around 4500 freaking fans in attendance. That is horrid.
badger1 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 so just curious about the obsession of a Big Sky team beating NDSU? I guess i'm not familiar with playoffs, but I think it is kind of funny. Btw, please no smack about the loss to Penn State today, YIKES
UND1983 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 SDSU throttles EIU, setting up a BIson-Jacks rematch. For the record...around 4500 freaking fans in attendance. That is horrid. 4500 people at their first home playoff game in how long? At least they finally realize how playoff tickets work. It will be interested to see how many tix become available for the NDSU/SDSU game after season ticket holders don't buy their's.
Siouxperfan7 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 South Dakota State football team has won a playoff game more recently than NDSU!! That is a factual statement and probably won't be said again....ever!!!! (Or will it?!! )
