Left out in the cold. Not southern enough  :D

Happy for New Mexico State to finally get an FBS home.
Sam Houston never really even slowed down going through the WAC.

So now, both Sam Houston and James Madison are leaving FCS. Do the northern schools have aspirations, or are they all willing to maintain the status quo?

I think NDSU is getting nervous with top rated FCS schools leaving

the only way I see this working is with a split of MVFC and Big sky to form the northern lights football conference for FBS, problem will be money and adding more women’s sports

Big boy football will split off soon anyway with maybe 4 super football conferences

Geography says the northeast. It also says not in C-USA. They're looking south and closer to what remnants remain.

If Bill Chaves is as was advertised, yeah, the home front ain't looking so great right now, but there is opportunity to create the "western MAC". It would take someone with connections to both the Summit/MVFC and the northern tier of the Big Sky.

it seems like a few years ago when realignment for the Dakota/Montana schools was discussed there was the issue of (possibly from the Montana schools) having a southern or at least California presence for recruiting.  I know the Montana schools usually have a decent number of Cali players on their teams.  Would this be an issue going forward and if so, which other schools would be good for the conference?

Interesting the Iowa AD Gary Barta, an NDSU alum, is the new chairman of the CFP committee.  He will give NDSU all kinds of slack when they go FBS with a new conference..

wishful thinking to think NDSU will even go FBS much less compete in it at the CFP level....

Anyone know if Chaves went to Nashville?

Would've been smart to go and try to meet some of the folks at Middle Tennessee State University (Murfreesboro*). MTSU with LaTech, FIU, UTEP, and WKU are the dying embers of C-USA. Yeah, they're going after NMSU, Jacksonville State, Liberty, and Sam Houston.

But should C-USA look to bolster, creating a northern tier/division would be a future lifeline.

*Drove through part of the MTSU campus the other day on the way to some little town, Lynch-something, vague recollections of what's there.

Dare the Montanas/Idaho risk not making a move if the Dakotas did.

If he was he kept a very low profile.  We talked to Andy Armacost and the First Lady several times along Broadway.  But I don’t remember seeing Chaves at any of the events or walking downtown.

Even your buddy, Phil Harmeson.  Disappointed that there were no Sicatonka sightings though.  ☹️

The Sicatoka is not real; it is an artificial intelligence, so it is and was everywhere ...

Well, then The Sicatoka should have been in the ref's ear when he gave Penn State a 2 man advantage on a bogus call.

Missed this rumor: Middle Tennessee State and Western Kentucky are claimed going to the MAC.

That would kick C-USA down to three (FIU, LaTech, UTEP). C-USA would need the four (Liberty, NMSU, SHSU, Jacksonville State) just to maintain a pulse.

Under that (C-USA 3 + 4) scenario, C-USA almost has to figure out how to get back to a viable number. A northern branch of seven or so to make 14 in the conference would get C-USA off life support.

Intelligence only works on other intelligence.

The AI found none to connect with inside the referee's helmet.
