Borek was pretty upset after the game.  The post game press conference link is below.  In it he talks about having to beat the "third team," and how they were really hoping for a power play, but I guess that doesn't happen "out west."  He then remembered that they got one, and said "thanks for that, I guess."

I'm guessing Jax doesn't reveal what was said, because it's probably not going to be too flattering to another coach.

https://www.themackreport.com/p/postgame-press-conference-following

1.  Its very unsportsmanlike for Bozek to start an argument in the handshake line.  All credit to Jackson for just ignoring Bozek.

2.  Even when Mack started making some plays, our guys did a great job not taking penalties.   I can't remember any obvious calls that we should have been hit with a penalty.

(Sidebar:  For as long as I can remember, there's been differences in how Western vs Eastern refs call the game.West is more forgiving of hard hits and positioning/interference while the East is more forgiving of stick fouls that get called out West.  That shows up in post game comments/articles going back to the NCAA finals in 1979 and 1980 "Sioux hit Dartmouth with a blizzard of late checks and hard hits" and so on.  So its always possible that Bozek actually thought there were uncalled penalties that our Western eyes don't see as a penalty.  Heck, sometimes with Eastern refs, UND has been hit with a parade to the box that mystifies me.)

3.  Barring transfers, they've got almost everyone returning, but unless Hockey East stays down, I don't expect to see Merrimack back in the NCAA's anytime soon.

4.  Our seniors really stepped up their game last night.  (Rickwood, James, Young, Zmolek ...) "Experience leads" in a tournament like this, and they get high marks from me.

Using apple maps:

Parking lots

A bar at Holiday Inn & Suites and the Den by the baseball field

The place next to holiday Inn is a crooked  pint.   It's not bad but can get pretty  busy on event days.   Otherwise  there is a Bostons pizza in the Ramada.   Not a whole lot up there by the arena unfortunately.    Parking should  be easy on site.

I'd  recommend  eating downtown- way more options and  plenty of ramps most of which are free on weekends.

I've enjoyed shitting on duluth about Osterberg for a decade, but senior assistant captain Strinden just took it away with an equally disreputable flop. And this KV situation is bizarre his decision making is like a western ND high school team playing a GF team at state, just sheer constant panic. I hope it doesn't lead to him transferring

But great turnaround by Jan!

One flop from Strinden doesn't negate a decades worth of flopping every game from UMD.  :D

KV will come back stronger and with more confidence next season.

KV will come back stronger this season. He still played 13 minutes. I thought Livanavage and Zmolek made a few turnovers/mistakes as well, probably because they play so many minutes. I think people are less forgiving of KV because the expectations are so high, but he is still very good.  Strathmann and Laurila played the least minutes, but both looked very good.

Parking was easy. Big lots by the arena on multiple sides and parking was free at least on Thursday

I have only seen 2 small lots right against the building ever be charged and those were listed as VIP lots

Well he is just 17 years old so he could be in a western ND highschool… the kid is incredible actually. He’s getting great experience this year and will be an absolute force his sophomore season. Sure he might look a little green playing with and against dudes 6 years older than him lol. Give him a break. What were you doing at 17?

I was a little concerned going into the tournament how the freshmen would handle their first taste of playoff hockey. It is a lot different than regular season games.

Wasn’t concerned about being good enough for D1 tournament play—too busy worrying about zits and a squeaky voice.

It just seems weird since he was so composed from day 1

Pretty impressive to be doing what he is at the age of 17.  However if you chose to accelerate your education to enter college a year early you need to be held to the same expectations as everyone else.

I'd recommend Roam near the Empire Mall. If you want something more homey, the Cracked Pot isn't too far from the arena. Classic diner like vibe.

lip reader...

he says something like "I've watched your team a few times...Jax...okay....then something about respect and he mentions a number like 40 or 14...then says just thought you should know that...Jax says ok again.

14 would be Tyler Young, the Merrimack transfer, so it would make sense he was talking about him.
