Was on Boisvert’s MSC team. So Felicio is in the USHL as a 16-year old. Is it normal for 16-year olds to be in the USHL?

There’s always a handful each year. Two of our commits were 16 when the year started. Felicio turns 17 next month. D is a lot harder though, so playing as a 16 YO is really impressive, to break the pt record is very very impressive.

Especially if Strathmann waits a year? Or is he maybe a later bloomer who really needs another year of juniors? When Jubenvill (no e at end) was first announced as a recruit there was speculation about him as a '23 or '24 freshman. Is he ready is the prime question. There are so many factors in play right now: Strathmann, Jubenvill, what's in the portal, how many freshmen do you want (can you get something other than one-years from porta). scpa0305
Logan Hensler to accelerate in school per YHH. He’d be eligible in fall of 24. Bubs needs to pull this one. It’ll be tough though I would assume.

siouxforce19
I heard a podcast interview with Hensler from November. He mentioned Jake Sanderson as a guy he is compared to/models his game after. Let’s have Jake give him a call

If Strathmann doesn’t come this year and if the plan is for Jubenvill to come next year as well, they would need room for three. Need to make room for him, so Staudacher might not be a fit. But not much room for maneuvering if you add another multi-year portal, you would have Livanavage, Strathmann, Komzak, Wiebe, Benoit, Zmolek, Jubenvill, and the other portal would make 8. Unless you keep 9, or push off someone else, you don’t have a lot of room for Hensler. I would like to have room for a guy like Felicio down the road too. Ausmus would need to stay 2 more years, which is probably the plan anyway.

He's a heck of a hockey player, great hands, great speed, and can get an absolute piss missle of a shot off very quickly. A prospect? maybe not right now but if puts a bit more size on and follows the path, who knows. Easily one of the top kids in the NDAHA 05/06 group at the HP camp this past weekend. Fun kid to watch play hockey.

You can't have a temporary team that only plays together for a couple of months compete against teams that play Tier 1 AAA all season long. Even the few MN teams that played Tier 1 didn't do well in the Nationals. MN is too ingrained in their high school leagues and ND is following that system. If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. Canada is darn close with their AAA teams. Team ND along with Team MN should be in a AAA league along with teams in Canada. Let the players that have the talent hone it playing better competition. You can't play a weaker high school schedule and then expect to compete at the Tier 1 level. That's the reason players are leaving to play with AAA teams. If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. Not sure if smoked is the correct term but do know that Team ND won the last two NIT tournaments against teams stacked with big time college commits. This is a tournament in the past they did indeed get smoked year in and year out and to win it back to back was unthinkable a few years ago. That same group also beat then ranked #2 team in all of AAA NorthStar Christian Academy 7-4 on their home ice last year and year before took Shattuck to the brink only to lose a heartbreaker at Shattuck . Not bad for some ND kids that come together without any real practice time together.
