Regarding Fleece, we aren't a destination for upper class kids, and those that committed either haven't made it to campus due to personal decisions (Rowe, Morrow) or were a bust (Moore).

What is an upper class kid?

Someone from an upper class suburb. Rolling Hills is on the Palos Verdes peninsula in LA. Rowe was from one of the New Trier suburbs of Chicago and Moore/Morrow were from Gold Coast of CT.

It's one thing to be wealthy (which Sanderson and some others no doubt were, hockey isn’t cheap), but growing up in a very affluent community just breeds a kid differently. You're expected to go to the kind of school your parents would be proud to mention at the social club or black tie events.

Brads kid ? Is his future bright ??

Don’t know, but has good size at 6’4”, 195, and is a 2005 birth year so could possibly still grow.

Is Mrs. Berry an athlete?

Question for the prospect gurus: Given Jayden Jubenville’s age—turns 20 this summer and is older than several incoming freshmen d-men—is there any chance he comes in this coming fall? Especially if Strathmann waits a year? Or is he maybe a later bloomer who really needs another year of juniors?

I’ll hang up and listen.

I would have Strathmann above jubenville.

on a separate note, I really hope we’re after will felicio…just broke the ushl record for pts by a 16 yo dman. Was on Boisvert’s MSC team.

He’s really solid, big boy. Obviously has a very knowledgeable source to listen to. I’m guessing he’s taking the slow approach to development which is always the most successful. I would hope he commits to UND. You never know though, sometimes coaches want their kids to “find it” their way. We shall see.

So Felicio is in the USHL as a 16-year old. Is it normal for 16-year olds to be in the USHL?

There’s always a handful each year. Two of our commits were 16 when the year started. Felicio turns 17  next month. D is a lot harder though, so playing as a 16 YO is really impressive, to break the pt record is very very impressive.

When Jubenvill (no e at end) was first announced as a recruit there was speculation about him as a '23 or '24 freshman. Is he ready is the prime question.

There are so many factors in play right now: Strathmann, Jubenvill, what's in the portal, how many freshmen do you want (can you get something other than one-years from porta).

Logan Hensler to accelerate in school per YHH. He’d be eligible in fall of 24. Bubs needs to pull this one. It’ll be tough though I would assume.

UND has had great recruits in each class, this one though would feel different. Would be absolutely gigantic.

If they want to make room for Hensler next year, I would think they would need another one and done portal.  If Strathmann doesn’t come this year and if the plan is for Jubenvill to come next year as well, they would need room for three.  Need to make room for him, so Staudacher might not be a fit.

Hensler is still 16. Earliest he could play is the 24-25 season.

But not much room for maneuvering if you add another multi-year portal, you would have Livanavage, Strathmann, Komzak, Wiebe, Benoit, Zmolek, Jubenvill, and the other portal would make 8. Unless you keep 9, or push off someone else, you don’t have a lot of room for Hensler. I would like to have room for a guy like Felicio down the road too.  Ausmus would need to stay 2 more years, which is probably the plan anyway.

What's the word on Ryder McDonald? GF kid at SSM.

Didn’t make the SSM Prep team this year.

He's a heck of a hockey player, great hands, great speed, and can get an absolute piss missle of a shot off very quickly.

A prospect? maybe not right now but if puts a bit more size on and follows the path, who knows.

Easily one of the top kids in the NDAHA 05/06 group at the HP camp this past weekend.

Fun kid to watch play hockey.
